Ouch! A demon that gives you ton's of life (potentially), only to constantly take it away! That just mean (and the complete antithesis to my preferred lifelink deck style, lol).
@RayearthIX Haha yeah that's the key, he's keeping you alive to keep you enslaved, he gives you power, but he himself also limits it, I also like the artwork because it's like he's pointing at you while saying the flavor text haha
@Valoth I am very aware of Spirit of the Night. One of my friends (probably stacked his deck.) once in a group game cast it turn 1 with 4 dark rituals. I always thought the mechanic of having minions to sacrifice was a cool idea to seek out their master..it's too bad they were mostly unplayable.(Urborg Panther was best of the 3.) I actually just did a Planar Chaos inversion of it... Spirit of the Light (Valoth and all the demonic overlords spit out their drink at once.) Which I included killing minions to locate them trick.
I actually used this notion once before. Inspired by the intro decks planeswalkers, was a contest to come up with a critter that looked for the planeswalkers. I channel the Spirit of the Night idea, and made this. https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/bringer-of-bolas?list=set&set=15387
Back on topic I decided I can't make all the angels and not maintain balance.
For this contest I will give it to the end of December 10th and then I will begin judging on December 11th, I will pick a total of 4 cards to be winners from different players (as best I can)
There aren't many cards that you can cast from exile, and so I thought to myself, wouldn't it just be A Demon that would offer such power to be able to do so. So I created this guy.
No idea what happened to this contest, but I just made another demon @Valoth, so I thought you might want to see it. It's a transforming creature this time. The catch, as demons to me always should have one, is that it could kill you just as easily as your opponents if you run out of land cards first.
So I made a demon snek. The Curiosity effect is seen on plenty of snakes in MtG. The final ability is also 'snakey' as it represents the snake shedding skin and 'regenerating'. A bit greenish, but the upside/downside is all demon.
I have the winners!!! I picked two 1st place winners, two 2nd,and two 3rd.
1st PLACE WINNERS
@sanjaya666 The artwork and ability of this card go together incredibly well and is just darn fun. The drawback is fitting and the ability could be well worth it.
@Tomigon A different take on Demons than most of mtg, but nevertheless perfectly executed as far as Demons go. The summoning of it after the death of the creature is great and the artwork is beautiful.
2nd PLACE WINNERS
@TheCenterOfTheUniverse Clerics are always summoning Demons, and this is a great interpretation of a cleric and its summoning. Right along hand in hand with Skirsdag High Priest.
@RayearthIX After setting this card I read up on the history of Goetia and I love it. The power with trade off of sacrificing is great and I love the powerful elegance of the artwork.
3rd PLACE WINNERS
@zizick123 This card seems like it would have been childhood friends with Nekusar and would be just plain fun to play.
@Lastjustice And of course Lady Orca had to be a winner, as one of the very first, if not the first legendary Demon in mtg ever remade by @lastjustice

Figured I'd share it here.

My take on a legendary multicolored demon other than just Red/Black. It references Kamigawa's kami and samurai while also embodying the classical demon's price to pay for strength.

Gonna try it anyway.

Thanks Valoth!
GG and well done to all winners!
If you need another contest to create for, mine could use more entries...
