  • The assembly-worker made the mistake of not accounting for Jahanacicus's hidden magic. Ethereal magic is one for none to comprehend but the Ethereal Gods and their spawn. Immediately, Jahanacicus was warned that the glyph had been seen. In a few minutes, the assembly worker was disassembled. "Nice try, Mishra!" he said. "That man truly is a genius, even though not smart enough to outwit me" - he praised this man of earth. He left with lots of food for thought.
  • @Faiths_Guide Truly well done, nice plan. The only thing you didn't account for was me refreshing the page.
  • Also, @Jonteman93 You said you'd enter my contest...

    Tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock

You've only got till monday, and the shadow alliance is winning!

@HeroKP what contest and is it possible if I can enter my merc's? (the creature types aren't actually mercenaries its just their occupation/apart of their name)

    This is the contest, @Monokuma15
Yes, you can enter your mercs. They would be a good addition to the power alliance.
  • Yeah, I'm waiting! The contest was supposed to start already!

A Bomat Courier trundled over some metal rubbish and paused. This was the remnant of Assembly-Worker 3. The small construct picked through the pieces and returned a few of them to Mishra who, after a brief inspection, inserted them into his seventh (now sixth) Assembly-Worker. He'd gleaned the information 3 had intended to bring him, and 7 would now have the memory of its former self.

    "Assassins" Mishra snorted.

Mishra didn't mind who the Ethereal imbecile "altered" as long as he left his creations alone in the future.

With his newest Assembly-Worker complete, Mishra sent out a few more Bomat Couriers to collect the rest of 3 and made preparations, along with his host, to go to the Trogan Forest Arena. His project from the night before had him uneasy, it's power and impact might have more side affects than he originally intended.
  • The path to the arena felt like miles.
"How far is it?" - Hans
"You'll know when we get there" - Radhe
    "How do you know?"
"I got interested when they mentioned an arena in the forest, so I asked around a little. It seems the Legornian citizens care very much for this forest. "Enter the forest deep on broken stones, search for the animals and trees calming tones. Reach for the forest inner dome, there you shall find the torgons' calming home." That is what some old lady said. We will be greated by the birds of the forest is what most people said."
"So what does that mean?" - Hans
"Like is said, you'll know when we get there."

  • Ok, great, but could you have done this, like, an hour ago, when you promised?
Maybe I'm not cutting you enough slack, this is a difficult job, after all, but that doesn't change the fact that I have to go now. It is going to be night soon, and I have a busy day tomorrow, so I need to go to sleep. But I can read the fight in the comments tomorrow.
    I'm rooting for the assasin!
  • too bad. I just missed the deadline after learning about it today. Crap.
  • If this comes around again I will definitely enter Arrin.
  • Also, @Jonteman93 I am begging you to do another season of this. I don't care how or what changes you make, just do it
  • Maern made his way to the Trogon Forest slowly, paying attention to everyone else who was going to watch. Looming over the crowds he picked out Radhe and Hans far ahead of almost everyone else, as well as Leandra carrying an assortment of papers about 25 paces ahead of him. It wasn't hard to see them, as they all wore clothes that made them stand out, and nobody would come within 1 pace of him, giving him a wide field of vision. He wanted to figure out more about these battles now, as his opponent was quite obviously spending every single minute preparing for the battle.
As the crowd slowed down as it came closer to the arena, Maern heard a sound of people rushing to the side and turned around. A group of battle-worn thugs were coming towards him, led by a single man with a scimitar to his side and a patch over his eyeright. As they approached Maern standing there, the people around him simply left, for the lack of a better word.
Finally, though Maern. Someone who I can actually talk to.
  • Beq, Neora, Oliver, Kara and many others where almost at the arena now. It lied in a much less life full part of the forest where there where no signs of the lovely Trogon birds. The arena was now visible through the tress, or well what seemed like an arena thought Neora. It was nothing but a bank circle with a bunch of wooden benches stapled on each other so that an audience could sit there. It was only curved around half of the arena however for some reason. When he thought more about it. The other half was very open towards the forest as if it was meant for the contestents to take the battle away from the "arena". "It's like a rabbit hunt then" he thought smiling.

Kara looked back to see where the others where but they were mysteriously gone.
    "Most likely bandits" said Oliver
"Bandits? Then shouldn't we run and help them?"
"It's just bandits, there are both soldiers and other contestants amongst the people, they will clearly be fine."
He was right, after some time the other had catched up with the. Man of all looked very satisfied for some reason.

"Finally we can begin" Said the same man that had presented the last battle.
"Today we have walked to the forest of the Trogons which have given strength to us all, even our fighters have been met by the magic of our lovely forest. Something that they will need as now they stand ready before us all to fight to once of them fall, But! .." The man gave a very similar speech as yesterday.
"Our heroes will never die as long as we have faith in them." the audience ended.

"From the vast and deadly deserts of Amonkhet comes a young but powerful geomancer. She have been hunted by bandits, thugs and even warlords and yet here she stands strong on two legs. The one and only Beq, the extraordinaire geomancer!"
"From the great city of Ravnica comes a man who have lost much. No family, no home. But this man has grown and become a swift and deadly warrior of the shadows.
The one and only, Neora the Pathless Scoundrel!"

To the audience cheering the man gave his last words.
"Let the second round of our tournament begin!"

Though it didn't fill him with joy of any kind, Mishra had been wildly cheered (as if already the grand victor) by practically every attendee as he approached the arena. He knew full well that practically all of them worked for his high-and-mighty friends who now walked with him up to the arena. They were in a forest after all, and logging, though looked down upon by some, was a vital commercial pursuit. It stood to reason that the majority of the crowd would be comprised of those that lived nearest, and most of those were lumberjacks.

Once inside, Mishra took his, much less comfortable, seat. His company was approximately the same as the last tournament, excepting that the Assembly-Worker was two versions newer. Mishra noted that the contestants were different than those from the last match in an offhand unconcerned way. The geomancer and the scoundrel, an interesting pairing. He recalled that one of them had been imbued with a glyph. The truth was that Mishra really didn't have much stake in these conflicts and so grew tired of even watching. He had to sit in the company of miserly fools that struggled to be his closest friend and watch small battles when he could be working on his next project instead. He began tinkering on his coat clasp.

  • On the way to the arena Hans strikes up a conversation with Radhe, telling her the story of his origins.
Hans was once a normal boy on the plane of Dominaria, raised by a loving family his life fell apart on his 15th birthday when the Phyrexian invasion occured. They invaded Hans's village and slaughtered his family, only with the help of the hero Saffi Eriksdotter did Hans manage to escape. Even then his life was full of trouble for shortly after their escape from the invading forces the two ran into the terrible Llhurgoyf which promptly consumed Saffi. With her last breath Saffi cast a spell of life on Hans allowing him the strength to escape. He ran for many, many days before reaching the Yavimaya. There he lived for hundreds of years. Saffi's spell had mixed with the innate life magic of the Yavimaya and made Hans immortal. Returning to civilization Hans found this tournament and hopes to find a hero who won't die so that he will finally have a friend again.

hey anyone know how to balance if so pm me I need to check a card with ya real fast and when I mean check as in a good check not to be rude.
  • Neora looked at the young girl running into the forest as soon as the order to start was given.
"Run little rabbit, run. This will be fun"
Neora let Beq run for a little more before he started his hunt after her. He knew exactly where she was going.

"Where is it? where is it?. They mentioned a quarry but where is it!?"
Beq was running through the forest keeping sight at all directions for something that could resemble a quarry or at least some stones, something that indicated of a quarry.
After a few minutes she stumbled upon some moraine. "Finally something!" she thought.
She started running upwards from here but she stopped when she heard a stick break. She stood still and watched around for what it was. a sound. She swung a stone towards it right into a tree. A squirrel ran away from its bear life.
She breathed out. "You should practice more on you aim if you ever wish to hit anything."
She swung another stone towards where she heard the voice, but miss.
    "Woah, that almost hit something"
She swung multiple stones back where she heard him but miss again.
"You know, I don't believe that the Legornians appreciate that you are throwing stones at their trees."
Beq took the whole moraine pile and threw it all directions towards the tree tops, shattering at least a dozen trees.

    "Show yourself!"
Neora step beside a tree now visual.
    "Here I am."
She threw another stone at him but he just moved aside.
    "You know thi..."
He saw Beq now running away again.
"Well, lets end this silly game." he said as he started running after her.

Beq threw stone after stone behind her as she ran in an attempt to slow down her pursuer who was constantly coming closer.
She then finally saw it, an opening in amongst the trees. "The quarry!"
And indeed it was the quarry.
When she was close enough she jumped down while she grabbed every stone and smaller boulder she could get her magic on and threw them straight back.
She heard how the stones and boulders crushed into the trees and beyond them.
When she had cathed her breath she stood up and watched at the devestation she had created.

Neora was shocked at the display he had witnessed. He did not think too much about his broken ribs. If he would have chased her for one more second, he would have been caught in the middle of that. There is no chance he could approach her now where she stood.
Maybe he dosen't need to get to her. If he can force her away from quarry she would be an easy target once again. "I wonder what kind of plants and herbs are growing in this forest."

Beq felt safe in the quarry. It might not be very large but it was more than enough for her. Now she just had to wait and think of some plan to force the rogue to her, somehow. While she was sitting there thinking she heard a metal cling sound from within the quarry. She looked drasticly at what it was. It was a smokebomb.
As it started to pour out smoke another bomb was thrown into the quarry followed by a third. The smoke became intense but nothing worse than that, until her eyes started to hurt. It became really difficult to see now. Then she was hit by a dagger in her back. She swung another barcade of stones and boulder from where she thought the dagger was thrown. She listened to the crushing sounds and then she was hit by another dagger in her right arm. Now she threw stones and boulders at all direction, but noting else aside the usual sounds of crushing trees. Aside from her eyes, she started to feel weakened. Not from the geomancy but from something else, poison?

She had to get away from that death trap. She could only wish that Neora had been hit by at least one stone that hindered him from following her. She went upwards trying to find some place where she could only be reached from one location. A place where could hide. She did not find such a place. All she found was trees and huge useless boulders that would be difficult to just swing, even harder to hit anything with in her current condition.

Even in her blinded condition she was able to hit him again. This time in the knee. "Well its matter little now, she should not have been able to get far, the little bunny have been trapped and is ready for execution." The poison would not be able to kill her though, only partly stun her. He started to move towards where she was in what speed he was able to.
After some time he finally found her sitting towards tree.
"You were much more of a hassle than I would have ever thought, it's almost a little sad that i have to strike you down here in your weakened state. you were a good opponent but in the end. I win."
She said something in a very dull voice.
"I can't hear you, speak louder."
She spoke again in a dull voice.
sigh. he drew his sword and walked close to her.
    "Now, speak your last words."
    ...
    "I win"

She stuck a dagger in his unharmed leg as she grabbed him tightly.
The sound of breaking branches came from above.
Neora looked up to she a huge boulder falling toward him. He tried to move but he was stuck.
Beq released Neora as she gave the boulder a slight push.
Beq felt the huge boulder hitting the ground to the sound of breaking bones.
    She then fainted.
  • Oohh suspense who won the assassin or the geomancer we'll see after this break.
  • Beq woke up with a terrible headache. She could now see again. she was in the arms of the priest from earlier. She looked around and saw the boulder now broken into pieces with Neora nowhere to be seen. She asked the priest what had happened and the priest just laughed as he helped the girl up on her legs. For some reason she felt more powerful now. not compared to before she fainted but compared to ever. She felt as unbreakable as solid granite, now even more unbreakable. She laughed at the simple thought. Before she followed the priest back she gave a look to the quarry. "I will see you again."

@Baron-777 Feel free to post any evolutions if you have any. If you don't you can still create and post them if you want.
You will be given one favorite of your choice for each of card in Neora's evolution that you post. This includes your already posted Neora, Pathless Scoundrel
  • Oh wow Neora was flattened as a pancake
  • Yikes, ain't that a shame. But sadly I didn't get as much of a chance to wow you as much cause of school. Nevertheless I could have tried more. I'll work on Neora's evolution and finish up his story in the mean time and wish my opponent @Swegboss12 the best of luck.

He permitted himself an inward chuckle at Beq's success. Mishra hadn't been witness to the whole thing, as he'd never left his seat, but he heard how dependent Beq had been on the quarry. Surely she must realize that not every arena would accommodate that.

Anyway, with the next of the tournaments concluded, Mishra was glad to return to his work. He'd reassemble the components of Assembly-Worker 3 (3.1 some might say) first, shouldn't take more than a couple of hours, then return to his more intriguing project. He was cheered at the prospect of one less scoundrel to have to keep under examination, even more so because he'd been given the favor of the assassin and failed.

"Almost like two lowlifes with one stone" he thought aloud.

Only two Assembly-Workers were with him now, the rest were out in the shipyards. He didn't really need their additional protection with all the guards his host had posted around the building especially for him, but, in case the guards needed guarding, they were prepared.

Couriers whirred along the uneven streets. Lagorna was quiet for the most part. Mishra worked on.
  • That was a good fight
  • The sun had since long gone down when Leandra walked Legorna's streets on her way back from the library. From the harbour she could see two strange figures going that moved in a strange way. As they came closer it was clearly two of Mishra's assembly-Workers. They went to the bridge where they waited for time before a third one came from the federation building, it seemed to carry something. The three assembly-workers then proceeded upstreams to the old town. Leandra thought it was a odd but it was surerly just some delivery job for some traders or something. Leandra proceeded with her walk home.

When she got into the residence half an hour later she got to know that tomorrow two matches will be held.
The third match between Neerayne and Dakkarum will be held first and the fourth match between Mishra and Bafae later.
"Why would two matches be held on the same day?" - Leandra
"We don't know but that is what is written in the papers that the soldier brought here 20 minutes ago."

Tomorrow it's your time to shine.

"Probably not, but I still have tricks in my sleeve." She retorted while still in her meditative state.

'Those 'Phyrexians' must be something... interesting. And I still barely know about this world. If there were a library and a good free time where nobody tries to kill me around here...' She inhaled deeply. 'Can't ask nobody, can't trust nobody.' And she silently sighed.

    PROGRESS LOG 223

Rakdos corpses held unaccountable for loss of Prototype R5-T4's bodily appendage. Evidence of Assembly-Worker interference. Foul play expected. Mobilization of forces to forcibly seize back bodily appendage from @Faiths_Guide and Mishra initiated.

    PROGRESS LOG 224

Uncertainty of true sequester of bodily appendage evident in lower caste member of project. Delusions of paranoia are negative. Dissenting thoughts have been put to rest.
