@Yonkers11I already favorited cards! Your quick mystery box contains: - Favorites: 5 of your choice - A Quick Mystery Challenge: Create a white enchantment that benefits your creatures when a nonwhite source triggers an ability on it. For example: Righteous Indignation
ok cool. Um also do I have to wait for someone else to put down a card before I can post mine because i don't need to comment on my own card (oh wow myself your cards are so funny I love them) or should I comment on the card right before mine. I'm in the process of making my next card right now
alright @AboveAndAbout, since I have to comment on your card, here's my feedback: I feel like 2 combat phases is a bit OP for only 5 mana. I would recommend 6. But past that, I think its a really good card. I really like the little box symbol you have there. I don't have premium, but oh well. And @jpastor, I honestly don't care what cards you favorite, if you favorite any at all. I chose my really favorite ones for the last one, and yeahh. Also another box please.
@CassZero Welcome back! Your quick mystery box contains: - A Quick Mystery Challenge: Create a Legendary Dragon creature card.
As for the leaderboards... from left to right
Rank by Score (Rightmost column is score)
Invitational Qualification (If you finished in the top 2 divisions of the Mystery Box Circuit Challenge tournament, you qualified for the Invitational... which is an annual Mystery Box tournament reserved for the top X Mystery Boxers.
Entry Count (Every 10 cards you submit for a mystery box = 1 point)
Prize Count (Every 10 prizes you earn or receive participating in mystery boxes = 1 point.)
Duels Record (Displays your 1-vs-1 win-loss record. This mode is where 2 cardsmiths compete for the same challenge..better card wins. Every 3 Duels wins = 1 point)
Rating (Calculated based on who you beat/lose to in your duels and other various modes. The higher the better. Depending on your score, you get a temporary bonus to your score or a temporary deduction to your score.)
Moshpit Wins (Moshpits, like Duels, are one of the modes you can end up with. Moshpits are basically free-for-alls of 3 or more cardsmiths where only 1 card wins per challenge. 1 Moshpit win = 1 point)
Deadline Points (Like Duels and Moshpits, Deadlines are timed modes where all entries submitted within the unknown time period will be judged... the top 3 cards win deadline points. 1st place = 5 points. 2nd place = 3 points. 3rd place = 1 point.)
Total Score (The cumulative total points you've earned.)
@Yonkers11 done... you're now in 76th place. I also faved 5 cards.. including the Money card. No need to comment anymore.. that was just for your last mystery box due to the Mode! As you can see ... no mode attached to this box . Your quick mystery box contains: - A Quick Mystery Challenge: Create a creature card that has flying as long as its [...].
Added 4 new modes and working on adding back all the 1st Generation Mystery Box prizes.... yes .... going through all pages of my discussion really put things in perspective... and I really miss Bombs... and destroying entries as much as I fave them lol. So much fun... but I gotta make sure first i dont have any duplicate prizes... so my list is currently at 323 prizes.... but will probably be in the 200s.
@Yonkers11 keeping them coming for you. You're now in 65th. Your quick mystery box contains: - Favorites: 2 of your choice - A Quick Mystery Challenge: Create a 2 mana common Zombie creature with an activated ability.
@Yonkers11 Before I give you another box.. I just want to say...the ability on this card is almost purely a red mechanic. For it to be green... you'd need +toughness as well as power and instead of first strike... something more green.... like trample... However... I approve of the flavor text. Here's your next box... you are now in 63rd: - A Quick Mystery Challenge: Almarek, Champion of Kidjo is a card made by @KironFrost. It mentions a mechanic called "Resolute," but I have no idea what this mechanic is... using Almarek as your inspiration, create your own card with the Resolute mechanic and make sure you include in italics the description of what Resolute is... of course using your imagination to decide what you think Resolute means in context of the Almarek card.
Commenting on @Yonkers11 Mallara, Rival of Almarek, before I post my entry.
First off, who's a good boy? *scratches Mallara behind the ears*.
Hem hem. I love the flavour of Dogs having a mechanic called Resolute, and I think you defined an effective and simple mechanic evocative of the name. I think the ability should be re-worded to "A creature with resolute cannot have -1/-1 counters put on it." This is the more typical wording of this ability that I can find, see Solemnity: https://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=430711
Right now there exists the game state where Mallara enters the battlefield after Adorable Puppy already has a -1/-1 counter on it. Gaining resolute, Adorable Puppy "cannot have -1/-1 counters on it", so what do we now do with the counters on there already?
I feel this resolute would make sense most as a white based mechanic, though green would certainly be a supporting colour so it makes enough sense here (especially on a dog). I can see this card having blue for flying, and green/blue is evocative of the natural beings being altered (the Simic definitely would've bred some adorable dog/X combinations for their puppy mill).
I just don't see anything particularly red about the card. Maybe if it was to have first strike or haste, both of which would help make up for the low toughness and utilise the high power. I also totally think you could add either of those without effecting the card's cost, six mana across three colours is an excuse to give it some more buffed stats, and the tribal restriction on the resolute ability means you've already made that aspect quite balanced.
I think I understand that as the rival to Almarek (an Abzan card) you might be aiming to make Mallara opposing colours, but I think that would be all the more reason to add a defining red element to the card. Almarek has a few life gain elements, red hates on life gain, and as a bat Mallara could have a vampiric aspect. Maybe Mallara could also limit other players gaining life, or steal that lifegain for itself?
Apologies if this seems an in-depth interrogation, I genuinely like the card, love the art, and think you've defined the resolute mechanic very well. Now, to put myself out there...
