Well, it will be for the other contest. I liked this format of creating letters under the requirements of someone else. It adds that drop of challenge in the background. Now to wait for the winners with a pack of popcorns in hand.
I hadn't read about the criteria before the other answer. But I see that it is not just some random criteria. Even more effort will have to be put into the cards.

I've been busy the past few days, so I missed the competition but it's pretty neat to look back at. Would never have guessed I'd do as well as third place. Everyone did a great job, congrats to the winners, oh and another box, please.

FYI the solution to the encounter (WHICH YOU FAILED) was right before you eyes... within the text of the encounter prompt... every single time. Look back at it once more and see if you can find the cardname you were supposed to use.https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/heroic-feasts-of-fearun
Another box please.
- From the first prompt, 'all you need to know can be learned with what you already know' is perhaps the most reasonable hint, since as the character in the encounter one might argue the only thing you know is that 'today is yesterday'. But the prompt also says that CARDNAME has to do with why the character is in a time loop, which is a contradiction if CARDNAME is supposed to be [Today is Yesterday].
- From the second prompt, 'all you need is before your very eyes' appears to be some sort of meta-clue (since there's nothing before your eyes in-character), but it seems to indicate the importance of the duck card, since that's what was presented in the initial encounter prompt.
- The third prompt seems to imply that the duck is not the way to go, but then there appears to be no information left to use, since CARDNAME is related to why we're in a time loop. At this point I gave up and just went with another decoy/duck card.
