What's your favorite contests?
Just curious, but what are some past contests (or present) on the forums you guys liked the most and why? Please share with us your stories, if you placed in your favorite contest or if you didn't even get a honorable mention but had fun still for your own reasons of course, I'm curious to know what classic or soon to become classics contest(s) you guys have enjoyed on here.
Since we are talking about multiple contests, let's keep this to your top ten you can rank them if you wish(or less depending on how many youve participated in or how many youve actually enjoyed.) But mainly I'd like to hear your stories, we all got one or two at least. Please keep from any negative opinions please or contests you wasn't happy over, only the ones you truly liked and had fun with.

This contest made me realize the design space that wasn't fully explored. Even after the contest ended, I enjoy making keyword tribal cards.
Also ningyounk's card review is always great! If I can see the judge did their best, it makes me want to participate their another contest.
2) Simple but powerful Challenge by @Callous

Judged by @Looverse
http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/398/reactivation-challenge-4-simple-but-powerful-challenge-by-callous/p1
I used to think complex=creative before this challenge. But through this challenge, I learned how fun and difficult it is to make a few lines of rules text have a strategical depth, and connect the card name, abilities, art, and flavor text together.
3) OTK Mini-Challenge: Premium Prize by @mtgcardsmith
http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/1321/otk-mini-challenge-premium-prize#latest
This was like solving a puzzle and I really enjoyed it!
4) Familiar Challenge by @DeepSky
This challenge was held before we have community forums. (We made token cards named "Challenge", and used disquss to participate.)
What we did in this challenge was to choose a legendary creature or planeswalker made by other cardsmith, and make a familiar creature that has a good synergy with it. This kind of challenges make people inspire each other and make the site more active.
This is the card I made, but the card I made this for was deleted: https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/overeager-tinkerer-3?list=user
5) ____ of Athera Challenge(s) by @Corwinnn
http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/464/faeries-of-athera-challenge/p1
This was like set-help challenge(s). AtheraCollaborationSet was an unfinished set that has six factions(6th was colorless), and for each faction, there was a challenge. Corwinnn told us what kind of cards the set needs, and we made cards. I think it's a good idea to finish a collaboration set. And a card I made for Faeries of Athera became one of my favorite: https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/bitter-hypnosis-1#.VbcKnGxRGP8
6) Mechanix Challenge - Seven by Me!
http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/2049/mechanix-challenge-seven/p1
I'm pretty sure this is the most popular non-official challenge ever done on this site. It got 130 entries in only one week! If you see the list of mechanics we used, you can know why this is my favorite challenge
7) Mechanic Synergy Contest **Circuit Challenge** by @TheCenterOfTheUniverse
http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/3334/mechanic-synergy-contest-circuit-challenge/p1
I always enjoy making a card with two or more non-evergreen mechanics that work well together. I want to see this rebooted any time.
8) The Best Cards Ever Contest by @Undead
http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/3826/the-best-cards-ever-contest-subject-to-opinion-terms-and-conditions-apply-results-posted#latest
I love synergies. Looking for synergies is one of the things that I enjoy the most in magic. I just scrolled back what I'm typing, and realized (3), (4), (7) are also about synergies.
But the reason this contest is my favorite is also because Undead judged it in the day he announced even though it had only 3 participants. Some contests can't get so many entries for some reason, and their hosts sometimes abandon those contest. I know that those are difficult to decide winners, but I'm not happy to see contests closed without winners being announced. It would be disappointing for people who put a lot of effort into their entries.
9) "Buy something will ya?" - make a shop/market/trading post card contest by @saveria201
http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/3026/buy-something-will-ya-make-a-shop-market-trading-post-card-contest/p1
I was a little busy when she hosted this. I wished I could enter. Magic is basically a game of war. So when I make cards, my imagination doesn't usually go outside of the war zone. Contests that make us explore the new places are always great.
I enjoyed "Normal Civilians" contest by @TrippleBoggey3 too for the same reason. http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/1861/completely-normal-civilians/p1
10) ___ Aristocrat Challenge(s) by @Corwinnn
http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/318/izzet-aristocrat/p2
We made an Advisor creature named "Guild name" Aristocrat for each guild. It was interesting to see how our card ideas can vary even though they have a same name, same type, and same guild's characteristics. Also I learned how to make a hybrid card without breaking color pie during these challenges.
New mechanics have been introduced to each guild in Guilds of Ravnica set, so maybe it's fun to reboot this challenge?
They allowed me to spread my wings and try different mechanics, sorry, I meant mechanix.
No need to say sorry. When I host a Mechanix Challenge, I'm always happy if mechanics in the list inspire you to make something better.
1. Anything to do with making cards of one another! I love honoring each other. We bolster eachothers’ decks and spirits by doing so!
2. Mystery Box Challenges
It’s a lot of fun! We get to try out things we otherwise might not have and the prizes don’t make it any less fun!
3. Mechanix Challenges
It’s fun seeing what mechanics other have made and implementing them into my own creations!
4. I’ll get to this later...

1) and a happy new year hosted by @GeekBabe123
http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/comment/91596/#Comment_91596
This is the 1st contest I participated in, and it was a blast! I still keep up with GeekBabe123's creations, and I credit her and @Dechujoh64 for getting me more interested in contests on the forums, this is the contest that would pave the way for me to start being more serious with my cardsmithing.
2) Iron Smith: Battle: An Enchanted Cycle hosted by @KrampisZman
http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/3380/iron-smith-battle-an-enchanted-cycle#latest
While this contest never got completed and I long ago deleted my entries (I've deleted a ton of cards in case you guys don't follow me) I still remember my heart leaping up into my throat after seeing that I was pitted against none other than fellow cardsmith @Mila! I felt the pressure, and I was pumped, fully expecting to lose, but I gave it my best at that time. I always wanted to have this contest finally be finished, for krampisZman and Mila and myself sake. Mila never submitted entries, and the contest went cold...
3) Mechanix Challenge - Twenty Five hosted by @Tomigon
http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/3336/mechanix-challenge-twenty-five#latest
This one was one of the first mechanix contests I participated in, and I definitely did not foresee placing first in it with what would end up being my most favored card of the community, Fateful Phoenix. I'd like to get another of my cards to surpass fateful Phoenix someday, but this will take considerable work. I took a risk at naturecall and it payed off. I approached the idea thinking along the lines of how ferocious works well in green, but it also worked in red, so since naturecall worked well in green, why not red? That's where the idea came from to incorporate it with how Phoenix creatures generally utilize the graveyard in some type of way. This is still to the present the best I ever placed in a mechanix contest. I always look forward to the mechanix contests, and always regret not putting the max amount of entries allowed in them. Creating cards with abilities you may not normally use in your own play style is a real challenge, and mechanix challenge contests explore this in every iteration of this contest.
4) Cards of MtgCardsmiths: The Saga Continues hosted by @sorinjace
http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/3478/cards-of-mtgcardsmiths-the-saga-continues/p1
I know this was my own contest, but I felt like I connected with more cardsmiths through this contest than any other contest, and for that reason, it makes my top 5. I had a blast running it, and I would carry it on, but @Ranshi922 bugged me about him hosting the next version of it, and wanted me to cohost it with him. I didn't want to be greedy, so I told him to go ahead and run it without me, but I'll participate and drop in to help if he may need it but he did very well. His version was a hit, and he has decided to keep it running in another ongoing thread (I'm not sure if it's a contest or not I haven't dropped by it yet to submit anything but plan on checking it out sometime soon.). I felt most people appreciated this contest and where flattered for other cardsmiths making cards for them.
5) Mystery Box Challenges (ongoing) hosted by @jpastor
http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/3540/mystery-box-challenges/p1
This contest I was hesitant to get into at first, I had to warm up to the concept of this thread. @jpastor feels like a long lost bro to me, I remember when his early contests started and then you would have to wait for other cardsmiths to join the contest. They did well, but not as well as his mystery box challenge would later do. This has been a fun challenge, and at times i have helped jpastor's in the judging process when he requests my assistance.
So these are my top 5. Hopefully you guys get where I'm going with this discussion!
