@TheDukeOfPork If I'm correct, do a search for creatures with the phrase "the same is true for" and any abilities that are listed on those cards don't count.
@Jadefire Well, some keyword abilities on those cards aren't evergreen abilities, so I wouldn't fully recommend that. In addition, that doesn't include all of the evergreen actions such as scry and mill.
The article that MemoryHead posted has a list of all of the mechanics in magic at the bottom of the page, separated by evergreen vs. non-evergreen mechanics. I'd just use that.
@Usaername What's the policy on card pairs? For example, if I enter a "partner with" card to one of the challenges (but the other partner is either for a different challenge or not entered at all), will they be factored into the judging as though they're a single linked entry, considered without the context of their partners, or not be valid entries at all?
I will allow partner pairs to be submitted in one of two ways:
1: Both cards are submitted to a challenge as 1 entry. Barring the 5 color commander challenge, BOTH of the cards must comply with the challenge requirements for an individual card. E.g. you cannot submit two cards for challenge 17 and spread the mechanics between them
2: you submit one half of a partner pair to a challenge as a single card. This is also acceptable. The card you submit will be judged with the partner in mind, but the quality of the partner will not affect the score of the card.
Notes:
when I say 'partner pairs' I mean specifically cards with "partner with" on them
Partner does not count as a mechanic for the sake of challenge 17
There are a lot of different options with this card: 1. Pay 0 = Get a 2/2 that sacrifices itself and comes back through Persist as a 1/1 (i.e., a Memnite with a morbid trigger). 2. Pay 3 life = Get a 2/2 vanilla until EOT that becomes a 2/2 that will come back through Persist when it dies as a 1/1 (i.e., a Putrid Goblin). 3. Pay 1BB = Get a 2/2 that sacrifices itself and comes back through Undying as a 3/3 that will come back through Persist when it dies again as a 1/1. 4. Pay 1BB and 3 life = Get a 2/2 that will come back through Undying when it dies as a 3/3 that will come back through Persist when it dies again as a 1/1.
Notes: Yeah, again, all I could find was vehicle for the borders. The set symbol (phantom) is by @Tomigon. I designed this like most schemes go, tempting the player to destroy it.
Challenge- (If this card is your chosen challenge, you may cast it once from outside the game.) . Like Companion. . Account with one of the sideboard cards. . The game begins on the Challenge Zone. . The old rule of Companion. . On the battlefield, it works like an enchantment.
Notes: This might be slightly underpowered, but I think I designed it okay.
Just to clarify, this is my 4th entry. I don't know who the set symbol is by. Also, is this valid? You said something about "during your upkeep". What do you mean by that?
- My favorite animal isn't really something I put thought into most of the time, so I reckon it's actually kind of mercurial, but I do like birds from the Corvid family. I'm aware that the link in the card to them's kind of thin and flavor-based, but hey. Perhaps it works.
Manaweave is a mechanic similar to Adamant in the way that it looks at the color of mana that you spent, but Manaweave just looks for specific color(s) of mana. It would mostly be on colorless cards, but I guess it could work for colored cards as well...
Here's another use for manaweave with good old Kozilek:
It's actually possible to cast one spell per turn using mana from the Treasures but you need to know the order of operations for casting a spell to realize that.

Sorry, I didn't understand what he meant by that.
@feralitator what is a non-evergreen mechanic then?
The article that MemoryHead posted has a list of all of the mechanics in magic at the bottom of the page, separated by evergreen vs. non-evergreen mechanics. I'd just use that.
(I also put it on my original entry, but I was just showing you)
