OK, so the connection to Deserts was obvious. Less obvious, perhaps, was making the Sand tokens into walking Quicksands that come to you. Since both existing cards that create Sand tokens rely on land count, making the commander a Crucible of Worlds for Deserts made sense. Players wouldn't have to choose between making their land drops and getting the bonus effects of their Deserts, which often requires discarding or sacrificing them. There's some rule-breaking going on with this card in that a land-only subtype is being given to a nonland card but a walking Desert is appropriate and not so far-fetched if you consider an animated Hostile Desert.
@RandomFandom I'm sorry, but everyone else got a creature subtype... I got a type of creature token that's created solely from Equipments with Lethal Weapon... and one instant... I'll have to get ... really creative. Hope you like what I come up with
Just to make things interesting, here's something closer to an un-Set take on Sand. So far, the legal cards to name (along with their costs in Sand) are: Beneath the Sands (3), Choking Sands (3), Desert Sandstorm (3), Reverse the Sands (8), Sandblast (3), Sandstorm (1), Scouring Sands (2), Shape the Sands (1), Sift through Sands (3), Stir the Sands (6), and Swirling Sandstorm (4). I suppose Shifat and Alrahmi could have partner with each other.

@MagicMalGiocato I hope you like Turtles, because that’s what your commander will be.
@Jadefire Um... you get... Sand. Yes, Sand. Good luck.

While yes, boast is a berserker ability, I'd say that Barbarians would also have boast if they were a normally used creature type.

@RandomFandom gimme another!
@Usaername Scarecrow! Scarecrow tribal is already a thing, but there’s just not enough Scarecrows to make it work.
@Temurzoa Siren. Good luck!
