Also, if you know of a way to get these frames put into MSE, or know of someone who does, that be much appreciated. If not, I can ask corwinnn or something. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
@Castiel_Demiurge Here it is. Sorry it's a little tight on the text. After I got done with the initial design and textures, I realized how little space I left myself. I barely squeezed in the card type under the title ^.T
@jpastor I started out with some direction, but kind of lost it along the way. I know it's pretty plain, so I wouldn't blame you if you wanted me to give it another go. Anyways, here what I've got. The ribbon part on the bottom and the back texture I found off of google search, but darkened and increased the color saturation. The name and color made it sound intense, but the artwork was giving me more of a fantasy/fairy tale vibe. So my brain was kind of torn between the two. Maybe I should add some sparkles or something to the background.
@Revan Here's the recolors of the first style. I still haven't started the other style yet, so it may be a while. I'll be adding mana symbols and empire/rebel symbols either later today or tomorrow. I'm putting them in spoilers so that they don't take up too much space on the page.
@121092 Very nice. Liking the progress. Could I ask that you also add Republic and Separatist symbols as well? Much obliged. Take your time, don't feel like you need to rush. Art takes time, and the more of it you use, the better it will come out.
Hey there! I've got a bit of a specific request. I'm looking for a frame for a set of cards similar to the Strixhaven mystical archives. They'll appear once in pack as their own special showcase collection. The slot is called the "case file" slot, and I was looking for a frame that sort of looks like a folder with images and documentation on a mysterious, otherworld species/cyptoid.
I tried a frame myself that I wasn't super satisfied with, so I'd love to see what sort of ideas you might be able to come up with. The biggest critiques of my design were the crooked name and typeline box and that it looked too similar to old border cards, but I'm not sure how to capture the same vibe in a more modern mtg aesthetic.
The frames I'd be looking for are a White, Blue, Black, Red, and Green frame, plus one for artifacts, one for multicolored cards, and one for colorless non-artifact cards.
@Arceus8523 I'm still kind of an amateur at this whole thing. I can't guarantee that I can do much better, and don't really see any fault with what you've created. Never the less though, I shall give it my best effort and get you that spiffy design you're looking for ^^
Hi, I know it's been like a year. Just curious if you're still interested in this stuff.
I'm looking to put together a fancy Ang deck and have been trying to find a frame style that would match that kind of feel. Some various descriptors that come to mind are Fillagre, scrollwork, feathers, radiance, holy, etc. Not all of them, just as an idea.
Would only need white, artifact, and land. Wouldnt even need the Name, type blocks, or power toughness, unless you wanted too; but the program I'm using would need to have those as separate images, so If be fine just using available versions of those.
Sorry about that guys. Lost my password and kept thinking this was associated with an old email account so was having issues trying to get back in. Also have been super busy at work so that's why I haven't been on in a while.
@121092 - Hello! Could you create a full-art frame for this card of mine?
The text needs adjusting to look cleaner, similar to Demonic Pact's text. Asterisks should be bullet points, and the text shouldn't touch the border on the left.
As for the frames, I want them to be festive, fitting for a medieval party. Colorful confetti, ribbons, and such. Don't make them intensively saturated, lest they irritate the eyes or conflict with the artwork's colors.
Here's the original artwork. The artist's name is Lane Brown:
@121092 God I want the phyrexian planeswalker frames in the planeswalker card editor already. I have a bunch of compleated walkers I have to make for my final custom set
Pillars were a nice idea. They evoke the feeling of authority, as the card's name suggests. After all, the card is not about a normal weekend party!
I really, really like how you used shields to represent mana! Reminds me of how shields were decorated with the colors of their carriers' nations/provinces during medieval times. Great choice!
The colorful decorations are neat, especially around the artwork! But I feel that the ones on the bottom could be mistaken for packing beans due to their round shapes. If they had sharp edges and/or rectangle-ish shapes, they would be more similar to confetti.
I also noticed that the artwork was squished a bit to better fit into the borders? Perhaps if the hanging decoration above the artwork was removed, it wouldn't need to be squished. Or if you cropped a bit of the artwork from the bottom, since it's not very visible anyways.
The text is not exactly identical to the one I had used on the card, and that's alright. But there's a typo on the second to last ability:
Target creature becomes the target of another target creature until your next turn.
The word "target" in bold should be "copy" like in the original card's text.
But all in all, I really like the borders you made! Well done! And I have another request for you if you're interested.
@TenebrisNemo Ah darn, good catch. I'm always sloppy with proof reading lol. I'll fix it up hopefully by tonight. Sure thing. What did you have in mind?
@121092 - Would you design a border which these three cards could use?
I want the borders to be wooden and to have warm colors, similar to these tavern artworks. Maybe each card's title could be a nice wooden sign hanging from something? And if there's enough space on the bottom border, there could be wooden plate(s), cutlery, and/or tankard(s) which are filled either with food or crumbs. Foaming ale. Bones from recently eaten meat. You know it.

Unfortunately, I dont sorry.
Thanks for doing that!
Not a problem. Enjoy:)

Can do.im gonna try to still keep them similar though. Two different conflicting styles may not go well together.

Btw, I'm also heavily into cryptozoology, so if you need some ideas for more creature types let me know

Sorry it's been a while jt, but did you still want a custom Aang frame?
Let me know if you any of you guys want me to apply this for you.

My thanks in advance!
Sure thing! Check back In a day or two. A week at the latest.

Well if you have any in mind, you can put your idea here and I can 'complete' it for you. Lol
Here ya go. Sorry again for the wait. Let me know what you think.
