MTGCS Featured Cardsmiths - Duel Decks: cadstar369 vs ShadowReign

What this is
  • Each month, mtgcardsmith features a couple cardsmiths on the blog: https://mtgcardsmith.com/blog
  • This contest puts the featured cardsmiths head to head in a duel deck format. 
  • This challenge is to create cards that fit into their duel decks.
  • I've asked the featured cardsmiths, "What are the primary mechanics on cards you've created?"

What to do
  • You are creating the cards for these Duel Decks!
  • You are encouraged to submit cards that use the primary mechanics or that synergize with them (perhaps even with other mechanics.)
  • You can choose the colors for your cards based on what you think the deck's color identity should be!
  • Aim to create the cards that make the deck unique, strong, or flavorful.
  • Feel free to stray from the primary mechanics should you feel such desire.
  • Be sure to mention which deck you're posting for!
Rules & Rewards
  • You may post cards for either deck.
  • Unlimited entries + a favorite on each entry you submit
  • The top 3 cards in each deck will win a prize.
  • I may or may not have judging help from the featured cardsmiths themselves!
  • 3rd best card = Honorable Mention and will receive 5 favorites
  • 2nd best card = Runner Up and will receive a random mystery prize!
  • Best card = Winner and will receive the non-premium prize of your choice from the master mystery prize list!

@cadstar369 -- Primary Mechanics

  • Mentality – [cost / condition] Reveal the top card of your library. If [card type] is revealed this way, [effect]. Then shuffle. Examples
  • Magecraft
  • Prowess
  • Rebound
  • Cycling

@ShadowReign -- Primary Mechanics

  • Primal Instinct (When this creature attacks, it gets +3/+1 until end of turn.) Examples
  • Polluted (Whenever this land becomes tapped, its controller loses 1 life.) Example
  • Syndicate N - {cost} (You may pay an additional
    {cost} as you cast this creature spell. If you do, search
    your library and/or graveyard for a creature card
    with converted mana cost N or less that shares a
    creature type with this creature, and put it onto the
    battlefield tapped. If you search your library this way,
    shuffle.)      Example
  • Necro Conscience - Whenever a creature
    card enters or leaves your graveyard... Example
