🌊 MTG Cardsmith Survival Challenge: Creature Waves & Drop Zone Supplies

We're in a world under siege—waves of creatures spawn mysteriously through portals, ancient magic, or villainous design. It's up to us to survive.

There are two ongoing events in this challenge:

  1. Eliminating Creatures

  2. Receiving Supplies at the Drop Zone

⚔️ Eliminating Creatures

At random intervals, creature waves will appear with specific challenges.

Nobody knows when the next wave will strike, what types of creatures will arrive, or how dangerous they'll be. There may be calm periods… or non-stop onslaughts.

To eliminate a creature:

  • Create a card that fulfills one of the posted creature challenges.

  • Post your card submission.

📦 Receiving Supplies at the Drop Zone

Supply drops arrive randomly and without warning. When one lands:

  • You may announce the supplies you're taking (exact system may vary based on the drop details).

  • These could be helpful tools, boosts, card ideas, or creative advantages for surviving the waves.

Comments

  • I will join this and bring my trusty autoturret with me.

  • I will join, and take my power Armor with me.
  • How many victims participants are you looking for @jpastor?
  • @Corwinnn - it's open-ended participation - this functions with any number - but obviously is easier with more
  • Supply Drop Incoming

    Get to the drop zone!

    Supply Drop contains:
    • Bundle of Bananas = 5 favorites
    • Crate of Apples = 2 favorites
    • Automated machine gun = destroys 1 creature at random every time you destroy a creature.
    • Fireworks = Used to call in a supply drop if you've personally eliminated 5 or more creatures since the last supply drop
    • Jeep with a machine gun = choose someone to be the driver and someone to be the machine gunner. Whenever the driver eliminates a creature, the machine gunner can choose a creature to eliminate without creating a card.
    • Body Armor = You can take two challenges at a time.
    • Double Barrel Shotgun = eliminate up to two creatures with one card by fulfilling both challenges
  • @LvB @Mellow_MC you can claim one of these supplies! I think I know which one @Mellow_MC will pick!
  • i will of course take the bananas, because, life without bananas is pointless.
  • I'll take the Automated Machine Gun.
  • I'll take my beloved power Armor.
  • @Corwinnn technically you can take more than just one it's all dependent on the vibe of the survivor
  • @jpastor... that is spectacular information... So you're saying one could take the apples AND the bananas? This is a game changer!
  • I'll take the Fireworks too then, since my build will be optimizing for KDR.
  • I'll also take the double barrel shotgun and some apples. Tanks need to eat ya know.
  • This is about to be just like Doom
  • It's about to be a raging inferno of kittens!

Feel free to reply with your custom card creations and get ready—the next wave could be right around the corner. đź‘€

  • Or a babbling brook of merfolk!
  • 🌊 Update: The Waters Are Rising...

Three days have passed since the Merfolk wave struck. Aside from a lone voice echoing through a babbling brook, the swarm has gone largely unchallenged...

    đź’€ The Consequences of Silence

With no significant resistance, the merfolk are emboldened. Their numbers swell. Their magic surges. And now... the environment itself begins to change.

    🌀 Trouble Begins:

    • Flooded Battlefield: All creatures cards you create have delayed elimination.

    • Tide of Madness: Each day the wave remains unresolved, 1 new corrupted Merfolk is added to the wave (in bold below).

    • Drop Zone Inaccessibility: Supply runs are temporarily suspended. The Drop Zone is submerged until at least 5 Merfolk are eliminated.

This is no longer just a battle. It’s a full-blown invasion.

🌊 Corruption Spreads: New Merfolk Have Arrived

Corrupted Tidecaller – Create a mill creature
Saltshard Weaver – Create something that alters lands.
    Abyss-Singer – Create a card with a chant-based ability

You hear it first at dawn. The gentle lapping of waves replaced with the crackling hiss of salt over stone. The Merfolk are no longer just probing. They are claiming territory.
  • @lvb and yes - life without bananas is pointless
  • I’ll join once I have time (Hopefully later today.)
  • Great @kaoz42 - as with all my discussions, entries you submit and prizes you collect here will count towards your stats in Mystery Boxes!
