Hi there, fellow smiths!
So recently, without any warning, there came this card and brought back poison counters:
...and as much as I don't really like this guy, it got me thinking. Can we do something with the poison counters mechanic?
And that's the challange! Create a card that in ANY way utilises or somehow mentions poison counters and make it as much fun as possible. I will judge the entries on balance, originality and overall looks and feel of the card. You can submit up to three and one of them can be old, but I am much more interested in new ideas.

Some karmic justice for anyone who plays poison counters. For real I don't know who decided bringing them back was a good idea, let alone giving it as a boost to creatures with deathtouch

Haha agreed! Please don't take my harsh feelings towards poison counters as harsh feelings towards the contest. I think the contest is a great idea and I'm excited to see what people come up with!

Submitting this from my phone so it’s not how I normally do it but this is an old one of mine.
This card was created for a different competition but it seems appropriate for this one as well. A dedicated entry is to follow.
3rd place: @TheRacingTurtle with Corpse-Thrower
It's a neat design and it has a nice flavor. I'd say that the untap ability is just too cheap for something, that can poison your opponent, but other than that (and the fact, that Crew is always supposed to be at the bottom) it's a cool card. You are awarded with 2 favorites on your cards.
2nd place: @feralitator with Plaguecaster
One of the coolest cards in this contest and it came so very close to taking the first place. I like the design, it's clear, simple and undenyably evil yet pretty balanced. You get 3 faves!
1st place: @RohanDragoon with Karmic Keeper
This card is just so beautiful in its appearance and clear in its abilities that it had to take the first place. It is also one of two cards in this contest that didn't mention poison counters in the evil phytexian way, but instead worked with them in a different way. But it still can poison your opponent as an unpleasant surprise. Just beautiful and I eventually gave it the edge over Plaguecaster because of all that. You are awarded with 4 faves.
