@jpastor OK, I see. I thought it was a mandatory trade. Also, I thought story mode was mandatory this deadline. What happens if a submission isn't accompanied by a story continuation?
Suddenly everything stopped, and a man walked between the two beings, "Ah, so that is what would happen if I didn't destroy that Phyrexian Scripture. Interesting." The man, a time-mage named Amos, sighed and snapped his fingers. "Well back in time to fix that incident."
With that, a whirlwind of magic swirled around the man and he disappeared.
As the time-mage left, everything resumed, and the ancient enemies began their legendary battle. Only did they not realize it was one soon to be destroyed from the timestream.
Sorry about kinda throwing your whole idea down the timestream. (I didn't really want to but this was the only thing I could think of while still completing the Mystery Challenge.)
@TheDukeOfPork you need to continue the story as part of the deadline - you can read the story starting on page 173... @AboveAndAbout, you need to continue the story following TheDukeOfPork's entry -
these two story submissions are overdue and your entries don't count without the story continuation. Please submit a short blurb to continue the story (a paragraph is perfect) - the latest story addition is by Obidiah on page 175... continue from there.
Awesome job @Obidiah - I can't wait to see the full story from start to finish at the end of the deadline.
If possible, everyone should try to illustrate the story and your blurb of it with the card entry... it's basically a graphic novel at this point with some cards tossed in as illustrations - this is the whole point of this deadline!
The time-mage appeared in another timeline, in search of the Phyrexian Scripture, and found his way into a merchant's presence. Before he could speak a word, the merchant asked him, "What brings you here, Temporal Traveler?" "How do you know who I am?" the time-mage replied. "Ask not answers you seek to know. Now tell me, what brings you here." "An unknown presence is hindering my power, I could only focus enough to get here. I need the Phyrexian Scripture, may haps you know of it's location." An evil grin appeared across the merchant's face. "Why yes. Yes I do."

The being stood up, revealing its height as its antlers nearly touched the branches above. Steam coming out from its nostrils in the cold night and hidden in the moonlight shadow, it shook its head and said,"You think that I am omnipotent, even omniscient, but not omnipresent?"
"You are just another being. Nothing more, nothing less," the man replied.
The man and the being stood facing each other from a distance apart. The man held his ground, waiting for the being to make its move. Instead the being looks up at the night sky and says, "An animal looks up at the night sky and sees specks. A human looks up at the night sky and sees billions of stars, planets, and galaxies... Want to know what I see?"
"I see the future that could be if we can't stop it," the being said.
The being opened it's mind to the man. A look of abject horror replaced his previous human arrogance as the vision filled his mind. As the being took the vision away, the man turned his head to look up at the being.
"What can we do against that?"
"Nothing."
The being stepped forth from the shadows, pitch blanketed the skies as the terrifyingly long limbs came into the man's view.
"What hope is there in the hearts of craven insects?"
The tendrils wrapped around themselves, twisting and convulsing as they formed a new shape.
"I have served in the shadows before your world held the spark of life."
Shapeless masses turned to familiar digits as a hand reached down to rest before the man.
"My plans and ambitions have seen better than you fall helpless at their shear utterance."
The mawless visage torturously maimed itself to shift into the deceptively peaceful gaze of a man.
"We set the suns ablaze with death and sever the light from your innocent eyes."
The face moved lower, reminiscent of a mountain descending from the skies.
"You. This world. Your gods. You kings. Your heroes. Your legends. Your commanders. Your prophecies. You. Do. Nothing. Save for sate my hunger for a brief respite before I bleed your world and cast it to oblivion."
"We will conquer your world, and consume all living. We have watched you humans from the shadows. You are weak. You propose no threat. Your world will fall, and we will rejoice in your destruction."
"We?" the man replied.
"My species. The Phyrexian species."
The creature then realized it has been speaking in Phyrexian language the whole time, and yelled "Wait!"
The man then shifted into his true form, revealing he is the Phyrexian's nemesis, a Shapeshifter. An epic battle was about to commence.
Suddenly everything stopped, and a man walked between the two beings, "Ah, so that is what would happen if I didn't destroy that Phyrexian Scripture. Interesting."

@ShadowReign, Nice addition to the story! (Also, I think yours is cooler than mine.)
I could finish the story real quick if you want.
