IT was hurled around by a loud and hot flash of fiery light and thrown against a wall, leaving a dent in the wall. Woo, that was unexpected! Then IT realized the strange other many tentacled formless creature thing was making noises again at IT. And there was another even stranger creature with only four extremities and a large bubble thing on its top making noises, too. Was this a game IT didnt know yet? Maybe IT should make some noises too and see what happens ? Or should IT try another round of hide and catch ? Maybe both ? IT was unsure. IT moved towards the other two creatures and decided to ...
@Lurisauri The deformed humanoid seemingly made of black slime, as its muffled cracking, ripping, and popping could be heard barely as Panos gets closer. Panos couldn't tell that the figure had neck and face until it turns its head toward to Panos.
"... A human...? " The sound is clearly to Panos, but it sounds like a person is choking on something and is trying to speak through it. " It seems... You are perhaps... One of these lifeforms... Designed to hold many, many... However contains so little. I will not attack... You, after all... We are in the... Same boat. That is as long... As you don't attack me in first place."
Then the figure decides to ignore the human and is on way to engine area.
As the situation begins to cool down, everyone seems to have come to a seemingly peaceful standoff, and move off in their own directions. @jpastor if you could I would like a formal message stating you are leaving this saga, handing control over your character to me, otherwise I will await a response from you.
@Mellow_MC Take control of jpastor's character or let his character die whenever and whatever other characters see fit. It is highly unlikely that he will respond back to you after getting busy with new discussions. (Very annoying, I know. I kinda wish people would give me heads up before they get busy or got silence for a while)
1. First of all one engine just exploded but the ship stays fine and now I should explore further? 2. The person I carried all the way to not die just ... died? 3. An alien screamed at me while another alien, who killed a giant monster on this ship, offered me a peace treaty?
Panos would ask H if one of the pods is still available
@Lurisauri Lurisauri, I can help with your confusion for this; The Latexmind isn't an alien form, it is a man-made monster that feast on life forms' mind. However, for Panos, it can appear alien-like to him. The Latexmind didn't really killed the monster, it simply "collect" the monster into its mind among the collections while keeping its "corspe" alive. (Yeah, Latexmind basically killed the monster, but at the same time, it didn't killed the monster.)
Assume that Draja is in coma due to malfunctioned crypofreezer and he wasn't treated for any damage done by malfunctioned crypofreezer. It would make sense that his body finally gave away after being in coma for a while.
Latexmind didn't really offer peace treaty, it merely say it is not in interest to attack anyone or to eat someone.
Mellow_MC, since Luridauri said the ship is doing fine even one of engines blew away. Does that means the ship is no longer unstable? If that is so, The Latexmind will take interest in HIAH instead to discuss over the ways to escape the ship or land it on a planet safety to repair it.
As I already stated in the posts above, the ship has entered a decaying orbit around the planet. The ship is not just simply fine after the engine was destroyed - it is now slowly making its way towards the planet's atmosphere.
I understand the confusion. Many of these story segments have been rushed on my part due to work and I was unable to really add the amount of detail I wanted to add for this saga.
Since the ship is in the orbit around the planet and the ship, seeing HIAH is present, The Latexmind might go ahead and ask this AI before it makes the way to engine room.
"You and I, we are not... So different but... What you lacks is awareness and... Intelligence. Because of that, you are merely machine... With nothing purpose but... To answer the questions... Before... You accordingly to... Your files allows... Is there... Way to prevent the ship... From crashing onto the planet? Is... There... In engine room allow the ship... To slow down and land safety... Onto the planet? Or pods are highly... Advised as the ship... Cannot be saved or it land... Safely onto the planet?" The deformed figure mellowed. It look at Panos (@Lurisauri), "It seems... The human you... Tried to take with you... Is in coma... I sense his mind is slipping away... If you willingly to give him over to me... I would be... Able to save him from... Meeting his death."
@jpastor The way I see, you can have character suddenly wakes up or discard that character and start new character as someone just got out of the cryofreezer as ship's engine bursted out and caused a few crypofreezers malfunctioned. One of them wakes your new character up.
@Mellow_MC Would you be fine with this, if Jpastor decides to start as new character?
Very sorry for hastily killing off your character, I didn't realize you backed out for just a short time period. It would be fine to make a new character, or if you want to keep your old one it is fine.
Mana Cost: 1WU Type: Legendary Creature – Human Pilot Power/Toughness: 2/3
Abilities:
Starborn Tactician – Whenever Captain Elyria Voss attacks or blocks, you may Scry 2.
Last Hope of the Crew – If you have fewer than three cards in hand, spells you cast cost {1} less to cast.
Void Adaptation – Whenever you discard a card, you may exile it. If you do, create a 1/1 colorless Drone artifact creature token.
Flavor Text:"Survival isn’t about strength. It’s about making the right choice when everything else is falling apart."
This character leans into the desperate survival theme, balancing tactical foresight (Scry), resource management (cost reduction), and an ability that represents repurposing what little remains (turning discarded cards into drones). What do you think? Would love to see others join in! 🚀
Elyria Voss wasn’t meant to wake up yet. None of them were. The hiss of the malfunctioning cryo-pod was the first thing she registered—the second was the searing cold that burned her lungs as she gasped for air. She stumbled out onto the freezing metal floor of The Star’s Ascension, her head pounding from cryo-sickness.
Red emergency lights pulsed dimly along the bulkheads. The ship was whisper-quiet, save for the distant hum of failing machinery and the occasional static crackle of an AI voice stuttering into nothingness. She was alone.
The terminal flickered when she activated it. "Critical system failure. Primary AI offline. Navigation compromised. Cryo-sequence disrupted. Remaining rations: 3 months. Probability of survival: 4.7%."
Her stomach sank.
Elyria had been a Fleet Captain once—a tactician, a leader. But those days were gone, buried beneath a millennium of frozen stasis. Now, she was just another survivor in an impossible situation. She flexed her shaking fingers, forcing her breath steady. She needed information. She needed others. She needed to do something before the ship drifted too far into the void.
She tapped the console, sending out a desperate broadcast:
"If you’re awake, if you can hear this—respond. We need to fix this ship, or we die."
As everyone moves to their own devices, H.I.A.H suddenly starts beeping and transmits a message. “If your awake, if you can hear this—respond. We need to fix this ship, or we die.”
H.I.A.H seems almost disinterested in you, and instead follows Panos down a hallway and through a door, leaving you alone with IT. What would you like to do?
As you finish transmitting your message, you suddenly hear clanking in the ceiling above you. A vent 30 feet to your left clanks out of the wall and falls to the ground. A green stinger trails out of the wall and begins to search along the console to your left. What would you like to do?
"Hello Elyria is that you? This is Panos. I'm on my way to the escape pods with H right now. The ship seems for me too unstable to repair it completely. Maybe it can still be landed on the planet, otherwise I would suggest escaping with the pods. Let's meet near the pods, to discuss further."
K'tha E'rakhanan is a leviathan class life form that is known for coming to the aid of foundering starships, but will destroy them if angered. He has shrunken to the size of a 10-foot whale for the sake of fitting on the ship. (His true size is over 10 kilometers long.)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- K'tha E'rakhanan sensed a starship that was failing in the distance. He quickly flew to its blind spot, then shrunk to a size that would fit and rammed a hole in the hull. He decided to seek out its inhabitants and found a human soldier (Panos) holding a strange device (H.I.A.H.) and a very strange alien life form (Latexmind). Then he blocked their way and asked "What problem is your starship having?" In a rumbling and slow voice.
The strange green stinger suddenly seized up and retracts back into the vent after having pressed a few buttons. Suddenly a panel opens in the side of the console, and a slight breeze comes from within. Just as you are considering going in, a strange creature launches itself out and attacks you.
As the other creatures moved away slowly, IT wondered why they were moving so slow? Was this not hide & seek & chase but another game? IT followed them, curious, but IT was smart, and so IT used every chance there was to hide behind machinery and other strange constructions, in case this was hide & seek & chase!
@kaoz42 "Curious... Curious... You are similar... As the alien form in the ship, yet... You show... More intelligent than it." The deformed figure mellowed, "We have lost... An engine, it was... Used to kept the ship... Stable. Without it, we may... Losing attitude to the... Closest planet and may... Crash there."
After Panos asked one more time if it was Elyria that spoke through H, a strange giant leviathan appeared and asked "What problem is your starship having?" After meeting Latexmind and IT nothing could surprise him anymore. "This has to be a really really awkward dream" said Panos to himself. This complete ship is just pure imagination. It has to be. Despite this he replied to the new strange creature: "A engine exploded. Is there any way we can repair this?"
@Mellow_MC Also, in another discussion, to answer your confusion with exhaustion counters. The Latexmind cannot bleed but it gets weaker for each time it was harmed. These damage causes the latex to become unstable. Latexmind must sterilize them or all will break down. If it has host, then it is drawing energy from the host instead of itself to keep the latex stable and allowing to take more damage than usual.
If Latexmind doesn't have enough energy to keep latex stable when taken damage, it will feel "hungry" for new host. The Latexmind being hungry for knowledge is just The Latexmind being greedy and wants more hosts than it actually needed.
@Lurisauri@Mellow_MC K'tha E'rakhanan replies "At my full size I could generate enough energy to keep the ship from crashing, but at this size I can power much less. I'll see what I can do. Can you show me where the exploded engine is?"

Very well.
It is now up to everyone what they would like to do. The ship is massive and may hold many secrets.

It will need answers from HIAH, it will follow them.
