Just learned there is a discord, been staring that image down for the last year or so and it never once went through my mind that there was a discord I could join.
I wouldn't necessarily equate speaking of the site with speaking of the owner. What I take away is that there's been some relenting on what seemed to be a previously single-minded march towards obsolescing the forums, which has historically been the heartbeat of the community. Making the forums easier to access again is to me an objective improvement over what the state of the site was previously, even if the person who's helming the business behind it remains unchanged.
@Jadefire - You remind me of Palpatine - lots of sophisticated words - I shall start giving your boxes with more sophisticated vocabulary.

@Corwinnn, should he use such an aide he is beneath those who require no such augmentation. Thesaurus books and sites alike, often mislead, for they fail to convey subtext, connotation, or cultural implication of words. Yes, to grow has the same definition as to flourish, or to burgeon, but the significance is wholly dissimilar. I have no such weak willed needs, for I am discerning of the beautiful and subtle nuances of vocabulary, not to be dulled by superficial comprehensions.
(Felt like being dramatic, and to flex the fact that I will almost never use a thesaurus on account of my vocabulary. Thanks friendless middle school Ranshi for reading several dictionaries front to back.)
Upon the commencement of this thread, I had not the slightest presupposition that it would, in due time, become a haven for those for whom their lexicon is not merely a tool for discourse, but a vibrant array of glorious artistry...but I'm totally here for it!
I believe the turmoil of the site was largely due to a few specific points:
The inclusion of an AI generator in the card making tools
The disinterest in supporting the forums, including removing easy forum access from website
The removal of comments in the discord server that were generally respectful and otherwise rule abiding, but disagreed with the owner's stance on AI use
Did I miss anything? Those seemed like the big three concerns to me.
Hello, just got her and would like input on a card before I put it into MTG Cardsmith. I put it in a discussion of my own. I do hope that I can be on here close to daily, but we will see what happens.
