But thats fine for me, since the Cosmogoyf is quite funny too, especially if you play a deck with "adventure" and "warp" mechanics, so you can exile a lot of cards to play them later.

Yeah, did you hear that wizards? Hire me and i'll make the snailiest Snail Edition that ever existed And maybe it will have some ghost pirates in it as well !
I really don't want to search for art cuz most of them are absolute trash, and I can't access mtgcs so I can't even upload my own art so here I have a card for you, @jpastor
I made it for a deck that I currently run in my local mtg shop cuz ppl help me try my decks and it is really balanced (almost always wins against precons/sightly buffed precons but hasn't a consistent win rate against more complex and expensive decks)
Faine, angelical captain {3}{w} Legendary Creature - Angel Soldier Flying, Vigilance Faine ETBs with a honor counter on it.
Whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to a player, put a honor counter on it. Creatures with honor counters get +1/+1 Whenever a creature with honor counters is target of a spell or ability you don't control, draw a card and remove all honor counters from that creature. 2/3
@LvB // Snail Edition with ghost pirates?? Okay, now I need this set. Wizards, are you hearing this? This is exactly why the forums exist // peak creativity with a healthy dose of chaos.
@smax765 // dude, Faine, Angelical Captain is slick. I love how the honor counters feel like a natural extension of vigilance/leadership flavor. And the draw + reset clause? Thatās such a clean way to prevent the ability from snowballing while still rewarding smart plays. Honestly, this feels like the kind of uncommon/rare legend youād see anchoring a draft archetype. Balanced, flavorful, and a sweet story hook.
And speaking of story hooks⦠donāt forget Challenge #4 ā āThe Mystery Box Lives.ā
Make something that feels like it popped out of a chaotic box packed by a planeswalking trickster. It can be absurd, broken, or just way too flavorful.
Bonus points if itās a snail. Or a ghost pirate. Or both.
This thread keeps getting better // thanks for keeping it alive with both laughs and legit designs.
@smax765 / @smaxx // respect Thatās some serious commitment, making a whole new account just so you could keep designing. Thatās the real cardsmith energy.
And that card? Absolute fire. Love how you twisted it into something fresh while still holding onto the spirit of your earlier designs. Exactly the kind of āmessing up the promptā that keeps this fun.
Also, I feel like youāve basically just pulled off a planeswalker ultimate: āExile your old account. Return it to the battlefield transformed.ā š¤£
Reminder: Challenge #4 ā āThe Mystery Box Livesā is still running.
Anyone who hasnāt jumped in yet // nowās the time. Snails, ghost pirates, chaotic treasures, or just something totally unhinged. Drop it in.
This thread refuses to die, and Iām here for it. š„
So, i mentioned in the MTG Cardsmith Discord that the new website is slow and that i get a lot of error messages and that editor doesnt work right.
The reaction was: My posting/message was deleted and i got a 6 Day Timeout in the MTG Cardsmith Discord.
Thats the worst way of handling such a thing. Its the classic "Shoot the Messenger" reaction, that solves absolutely nothing, but makes people angry and think "why should i be on a website that doesnt care about its users?".
A good reaction wouldve been: "Thank you for telling us. Heres how you can reach the support, please describe the website problems and when they happen etc. so we can fix it and improve the site."
But just deleting what unhappy users write and temporarily banning them is the worst thing a website owner can do.
Right now im thinking about deleting my account here and moving to another MTG card creation website. Im sure theres other sites out there that actually care about their users.
@LvB // thatās rough, and I donāt blame you one bit for being frustrated. Getting silenced instead of supported is the exact opposite of what keeps communities alive. Youāre right: people should be listened to, not punished, especially when theyāre trying to help improve things.
@Corwinnn@smaxx // Iām with you too. The weird bugs and login chaos are definitely real.
But hereās the thing... this thread is ours. No bans, no deletions, no gatekeeping. Just us making cards, sharing ideas, venting when needed, and keeping a little pocket of creativity alive.
If anyone decides to step away from MTGCS, I get it // but Iāll say this... itās not the site that keeps me coming back, itās the people here. Threads like this are proof of that.
On that note: Challenge #4 ā āThe Mystery Box Livesā is still open (and fitting, since the site itself feels like a bugged mystery box right now š¤£
Design something that feels like it shouldnāt exist... but somehow does // just like us still keeping this place going.
Whatever happens with the main site or Discord, Iām here. And I know Iām not the only one.
@smaxx // Shadows die twice⦠but apparently accounts die three times š Love the flavor here. Dark, tight, and very āyou.ā
@LvB // SATANANAS. I canāt unsee it. This is the exact chaos Challenge #4 was born for // and now I guess weāre unlocking a side quest too. šš„š¹
Side Quest: Praise the SATANANAS
Design the most unholy, pineapple-themed card you can imagine.
It can be terrifying.
It can be hilarious.
It can be both.
(Consider this Challenge #4.5 ā the Mystery Box clearly delivered fruit this time.)
Iāll even toss in my own SATANANAS entry soon⦠because honestly, how could I not? š¤£
turns out those mystery box machines sell one-off trading cards. They cost $50 (in a vending machine) and the value of the card is $25 or greater. But it's like sports cards, pokemon, and everything except MAGIC cards ::: LAME
Comments
Wtf they're everywhere now
