Btw. the website and the forum is f*cking slow again. Its so slow the card editor is unusuable and forum takes like forever to load a thread. Website update was such a great job ...
I havenât even got on the new website yet. I havenât even played magic in almost half a year. Iâve been addicted to warhammer kill team and am painting some new models rn actually
@Corwinnn // thanks for stoking the fire, as always đ„
@melovecatz // that Mystery Box entry is awesome. Translating one of your own TCG designs into Magic form? Thatâs such a creative flex, and it fits the challenge perfectly. Never apologize for sharing side projects // half the fun of this place has always been seeing what people are building outside of Magic too.
@smaxx // another classic. You and @Mellow_MC have the âchaotic partnershipâ meta down to a science đ
@pjbear2005 // yeah, itâs definitely quieter than it used to be. But every post here adds another log to the fire. Threads like this one are the reason the forge still glows, even dimly.
@LvB // âA Snail Taleâ still living on warms my heart đ And yes, the siteâs still doing its âlag monsterâ impression. But hey, that just means more time to brainstorm cards while we wait for pages to load.
You know what? Letâs keep this alive our way:
⥠Challenge #5 â âCrossovers at the End of Timeâ âĄ
Design a card that blends MTG with any other world you love // Warhammer, your own TCG, Elden Ring, anime, Snails⊠whatever sparks joy.
It can be serious, silly, or straight-up unhinged.
We might be a small circle now, but honestly? Iâd rather have a quiet forge full of passion than an empty city of ghosts. Keep creating, keep sharing // and keep the spark alive.

Guys I know none of us want the community to die slowly like this, or just remain as a couple people. But if this site is fated to justâŠdisappear, why not give it the last celebration it deserves? Just a thought, but we can still hope.
I remember I stayed really active for around two years b4 becoming inactive, and I really enjoyed cardsmithing with y'all. I still create my decks, I take notes about my ideas and, yea, I'm always cooking sth. I remember this forums with so much love I feel lowk sad seeing it dying.
Let's plead for that not happening... anyways, what idea did you have?
what if we all make the most powerful card we can without instantly winning the game? i know not many people are still here, but i still love this game, and want to see what you guys are capable of with this. have fun!
i wanted to create a card for this. But the new editor is bugged and doesnt work right and for the legacy editor my browser is too new so it doesent work either.
So, no more card creation on this website i guess.
@Mellow_MC // thatâs a beautiful thought. Whether the siteâs fading or not, it deserves one last spark. A celebration. A proper finale forged by the people who kept showing up, long after most drifted away.
@melovecatz // perfect timing, and perfect challenge. I love that prompt // âthe most powerful card that doesnât just auto-win.â Thatâs pure design creativity, the heart of why we all started doing this. Consider this the Final Spark Challenge. đ„
@LvB // man, that sucks about the editor. Youâve been one of the most consistent creators through every bug and slowdown, and I hate that the tools are getting in the way now. Even if you canât post the card here, describe the idea // weâll bring it to life together if we have to.
⥠The Final Spark Challenge â âPower Without Victoryâ âĄ
Make a card thatâs unbelievably powerful, but not a straight win condition.
No âyou win the game,â no infinite loops, no combat stat abuse // just clever design that changes the game without ending it.
When itâs done, weâll post them all here. Maybe this thread wonât last forever // but the creativity weâve thrown into it will.
If this really is the last round, letâs go out doing what we came here for: making cool, clever cards together.
@melovecatz here it is, coming from the graveyard! It's in fact one of my first card concepts which adds an epic new layer to gameplay... damage ramps up really fast! For kinda obvious reasons it should have to be banned from being your commander (but not from the format)
I had this idea about an adaptive spiderbot that grows and grows.
Casting cost: 1x black and 1x green
1/1 artifact creature
"Pay X mana, where X is equal to the number of +1/+1 counters on adaptive spiderbot: Put one +1/+1 counter on adaptive Spiderbot. Use this ability as a sorcery."
So if you play it on turn 2 you can pay zero mana and put a counter on it. On round three you can pay 1 mana to put another counter on it and then 2 mana to put another counter on it, already making it a 4/4 on turn 3 that can attack. You wont have mana for other stuff, but if the enemy cant handle a large and growing creature early in the game, the game is soon over. Its situational, but can be very powerful.
And since its cheap to put 2-3 counters on it, but gets expensive later, this would be good in a deck that plays it early, puts some counters on it and then starts proliferating our to double counters when just putting counters on it becomes too expensive.
Its not overpowered but if you cant deal with it when its play it becomes harder and harder to kill, at least with damage.
@smaxx â back from the graveyard indeed! That design is wild (damage scaling like that changes the texture of every game). Totally get why it shouldnât be a commander⊠but man, itâs the kind of âlegend that breaks formats but we love it anywayâ energy that makes custom cards so fun. đ„
@LvB â the Adaptive Spiderbot idea is brilliant in its simplicity. Itâs one of those cards that feels like it could exist (strong if unanswered, self-balancing if the game drags on.) Perfect execution of the âpowerful but not auto-winâ challenge.
⥠Final Spark Check-In:
This thread started as a desperate little experiment to see if the community still breathed (and it turns out, it does.) Every post, every bug report, every joke about snails or pineapples or Mystery Boxes kept the forge burning.
We might be small, but weâre still here (still creating, still sharing, still cardsmithing.)
If anyone else is out there reading this, jump in. Drop a card, a memory, or even just a âhey.â Doesnât matter how long itâs been.
This isnât the end (itâs just the ember stage of the fire.)
