@ThatOneCat, I am only on the defensive with you atm. I'm just covering my butt. When I see an unknown dragon flying into my territory, I need to be prepared.
Sandir was covered in night, it's towers and streets illumintated by the moon light. The Back Water district hummed with energy, the District was on the lower parts of the floating city due to it's purpose of refining Aether used to power the cities electronics. The district was mostly quiet tonight, earily quiet. Tynarus felt uncomfortable as he looked out the window of the guard station, he had finally gotten the excitement he had craved from this crusade, chasing renegades down and helping the people feel safe was an adventure, but something was off.
"You wanna be delt in Tynarus?" Samuel called from the card table, Samuel and four other guards were playing with Tenseku Cards around it, "We need a sixth!"
"Yeah sure." Tynarus movved from the window and took a chair at the table. They dealt him in,
"What's on your mind?" Brigid looked at Tynarus "You seem distant",
"Hm, nothing, just thinking...",
"What about?",
This took Tynarus of guard, Brigid has always expressed little to no interest in him before, "What's going on right now war, the Nephelim, the change in leadership.."
"That's what I've been saying!" Samuel interrupted him "It's just weird how Gars and Tybalt died the at the same time that Meadra's ship went down, and Edgar survived? That's pretty coincidental!"
"It's not coincidental" Brigid interrupted him now "Remember it was because of the faulty Aether batch, the one that the Fearies tainted, it was the same batch that Meadra's ship was using and caused the tower to explode killing the other two"
"That's not coincidental to you?"
"No, Tynarus and I worked in the government building at the time, we saw the damage the explosion caused, right Tynarus"
"Yeah it was pretty serious, there was now way someone could fake that" Tynarus thought back to the tower a small voice in his head peeped up "Then how did Edgar survive, if the damage was that serious..." but he kept silent. Samuel finished dealing the cards,
"Let's just play."
The next morning when Tynarus got up to begin patrols Samuel was gone, he had been reassigned to The Upheavel District on the other side of the city and no one mentioned him after that. ______________________________________________________________________________________
The ship flew through the night air, it was silent and unseen just as Meadra had hoped, as she neared the city that Edgar hadn't changed the security key to the defense network if he did she would be shot out of the sky by Sandir's defenses. But as the ship flew to the under belly of the city without issue she new she had succeeded. "Classic Edgar, to proud to see a small issue" The bottom part of Sandir looked like dirt and stone but it wasn't, underneath the fake stone was an impenetrable metal that formed a giant hollow "Under City" This area the size of a small city was filled with Aether storage tanks and metal workings, the only way into the under city was from the government building, however she new another way in. Her ship flew along the stone outside, it stopped next to one of the pipes that came out of the covering and travelled up into the refinement factory above. But one of the pipes was empty, it was where the Fearies had broken in and just as she had hoped repairs had not yet fully been done yet, she found a piece of paneling of the pipe that was loose and slid into the darkness.
Edgar smiled to himself as he sat on the highest peak of Sandir overlooking the city, the Mind Shield chips had worked flawlessly, the nightmare spirits that Eshika had sent to terrorize their armies had done nothing but strengthened their resolve. But the Zealots still fought on, it was infuriating, and now the Realm of the King just thought they could take some land without repercussions? This wouldn't stand, he would have to wipe them out, he would have to break their spirits. He would find a way to end them, in fact he already had a thought of how he could. It was almost 12 years ago that the Sovereignty had gone on their 3rd Crusade it should not have been hard, just measly ratfolk with unadvanced technology and barely capable fighters, but they had failed to defeat them. It was only one bite a single bite from one of the diseased ridden things and the entire Crusade effort had been overtaken by a new disease, it was awful. The plague wiped out 1/4th of the Sovereignties' populace before a vaccine was developed. The "Molting Flu" had set them back years in advancement. But now held one of the last strands of the disease in his hand. It was kept in an airtight container. He took it before leaving for Mystik, he had been working on it for weeks and finally found a way to control it. By mixing Aether into it and secretly distributing vaccine to his citizens he created a strain of The Molting Flu that could effect the enemies of the Sovereignty but not its people. After that all he had to do was duplicate it, by adding Aether he could corrupt a much larger Aether container and with that he would infect the citizens of Eshika and the Realm of the King.

Syr Atela was packing her things in the Eldrakken Research base, she was ready to head back to Sandir. After the Eldrakkens fall there was no longer a need for her diplomatic skills and she had been reasigned. While it made her sad to think of the Eldrakken's defeat at the hands of the Nephilim she knew it was nessecary to victory.
"You are Atela I presume?", Atela turned to the door a slim figure in red wearing a blck mask was at their.
"Who are you?"
"A messenger from the city, you've been redeployed."
"Yes I know back to the city to he-"
"No your staying here, Syr Edgar wished for you to lead the scouting parties into the Eldrakken's former land to claim it for the Soveriegnty"
"Why me?"
"You know the terrain, and we have no need for diplomacy at the moment"
Atela nodded, but she was confused, she wasn't a soldier. The only fighting she had ever done was in some skirmishes.
"Of course, when do I leave?"
"Tommorrow, we have airships and tank battalions ready but most importantly" the messenger placed a metal box on the table in front of Atelta, it opened reveling a large glass tank attached to a tube which ran into a metal detector esc device. "Aether drainers" the mesenger continued "Made to suck the Aether out of the earth, almost all of your troops are equipped with them"
"Won't that kill all the wildlife of?"
"So? Trees are verywhere! Your job is to collect engough Aether as possible even if some forests have to die!"
(I am aware that red typically doesn't get +1/+1 counters, but plenty of colors get things that they don't typically do for the purpose of bending the color pie for a set (i.e. all colors have some landfall abilities in Zendikar) or other project. That's precisely what this is.)
Of course, what does Flair do about all this free real estate? He burns what was built by the other empire to the ground.
And we have judged, and are bringing you this... this. A very tense political landscape, if we do say so ourselves.
And among all this...
There is still a little mystery. Just a nagging thought you always had about this place. Something is different this time around.
But to uncover the prime arcane forces, one must tap into primal magic.
For next tuesday, you are to make something with SEVEN MANA COST or MORE. We do not care about what kind of spell it is. Go nuts! Doesn't even have to be in your colours or the colours of your faction. It can be an un-card. WHATEVS! WE'RE LETTING YOU LOOSE!
@SammySammyson@HeroKP I am currently in the process of making, what could easily be considered, an abomination. Not even a Planeswalker, just an abomination. A beautiful, beautiful abomination.
Whether or not my brother lets me keep it is up in the air right now though.
Gareth was the original Lost, along with his brother and several (currently unnamed) wizards, their home was beset by the Eldrazi, and they managed to stop the Titan responsible, but it had already destroyed their home. So they learned from it; they learned to travel safely through the Blind Eternities from the Forgotten One, and then they began their search for like-minded people and those forced into similar situations to help build their community, their family, and create a new home for themselves. Gareth became the leader of the Lost, and he sends his people out to search the multiverse for others in need of family, or a new home, and they teach them the same magics and bring them to their primary plane.

That was millennia ago. They left the Forgotten One sealed away in their home plane, and now he’s broken free, and he’s threatening this new place they call home. He isn't just threatening the Lost though, he is threatening everyone.

Go make a space coconut that shoots lasers!
To prove a point, YOU CAN GO AHEAD AND MAKE PLANESWALKERS TOO!
Just make sure to explain it in the lore, please.
Well, you know where this is going.
