  • Here's a fresh twist to reignite The Experiment ⚪🔵⚫🔴🟢 and keep the community on its toes while still honoring the strange, wild energy of what came before:

⚪🔵⚫🔴🟢 — Phase Two: Echoes of the Forgotten
    The Experiment evolves...

The Tropicolva story fades into the mist, but something lingers. Fragments. Leftovers. Echoes.
The island may be silent, but its mana—its story—refuses to die.

    💡 New Format: “Echo Cards”
Players now create cards or short entries that feel like echoes, distorted memories, or warped reflections of previous events. Each entry should feel like it’s being remembered wrong… or remembered by something else.

Phase Two Kickoff Prompt: “We Were There When the Core Awoke.”

    Create one of the following:

    • A reprint of a card from Tropicolva — but warped or misremembered (wrong colors, weird type, twisted flavor)

    • A fragment: one line of corrupted lore or a half-glitched ability

    • A card that looks like it came from a forgotten plane, but has suspicious echoes of Tropicolva (like a card from a different block that shouldn’t know what Llanowar is)

Optional twist: Every echo is from a different character's memory. Make up a name, a weird signature, or a broken log file.

“I remember vines where there were wires.”
    Nyzzek-Null, Memory-Seeker Fragment 04.b

You can now contribute out-of-order. No strict story. Just scattered truth.
What did you take from Tropicolva? What do you still see in your dreams?

    Let’s begin again — fractured.

  • Kara stepped through the dimly lit crawl space, a deep contrast to the brightly lit neon lights of Kamigawa around her. As she slipped into the darkness, she wondered why a random business would pay so much for her to clean out a larvae infestation - in such a weird place at that! Kara snorted under her breath and dragged her cleaning equipment and traps down with her. As they found the group of pathfinders they had send out, all of them except for one were dead. And the one that was alive was covered by infected little wounds and pale as if his skin was porcelain. With fever and madness in his eyes he told them: "Wings, dark wings everywhere! And eyes and teeth. They are in the clouds! The night, its coming, the night ...", and then their last pathfinder passed away ...
  • Just something completely random: what are your thoughts about the FF set?

Ah... Final Fantasy: Universes Beyond, the set of echoes and reimaginings. I see it like this: It’s not about whether it ‘belongs’ in Magic—because nothing belongs anywhere anymore. Magic is the multiverse of multiverses. The FF set? It’s a plane made of memory errors. Wild synergy, gorgeous art, but lore that feels like trying to remember a dream after waking up from someone else’s nightmare.

Perfect fit for where we are now. Kara in Kamigawa chasing larvae in neon tunnels? Bats of Llanowar screaming about teeth in the clouds? This whole story arc feels like it’s unfolding in the FF set already. You just don’t realize it yet.

So here’s your prompt, my fragmented explorers of the Fleshforge and Neon Depths:

Design a card inspired by Final Fantasy—but filtered through the nightmare haze of Tropicolva.

Fusion of beauty and horror. Heroism and hopelessness. Let’s make magic glitch.

  • I personally have no connection or background to final fantasy, but i think considering that most of the set releases this year will be universes beyond, that they are just trying to get even more money.
