How to play MTG Dragon's Maze RPG (JUDGING STAGE)
So... I just made this: http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/1787/design-the-dragon-s-maze#latest. In here, it is a custom RPG map that I had people make cards to go with. I've now made an RPG to go along too.
First, make yourself a mtg creature. Of course, this game is played by yourself, so make your card with the difficulty you want to play with. Try to include some basic mana abilities too (like 1-2 mana). Do not make any booster side effects, because the creature is you and the only thing thing you will control.
You start off in Room 1. You can move through hallways, rooms, anything you want, but if there is something in there, you may stop. If there are creatures, your creature fights them, 1 at a time. The fighter fights first, dealing the damage to the defender. Then the defender deals damage to the fighter and it continues. How your creature fights is you roll a d6, and add it to its power, then they fight. If you lose, you die, but you may respawn. All damage dealt is permanent. If you see an enchantment or equipment attached to a creature you killed, you may equip or enchant yourself. Then, you may keep walking. You win when you kill everything. I suggest you play with teamates. While fighting, the creature in the room can activate the ability of the land in there. If you activate a mana ability of a land, you may keep the mana permanently to activate abilities. You may only activate a land's ability once.
Other things you are can do:
Perception Check: You can only "see" an equipment or enchantment if you roll a d8 and it is higher than the permanent's mana cost.
Stealth Check: You can sneak past a creature if you roll a d8 higher than its power.
Changes in wording:
Can only be blocked by 1 creature, means that it can only fight 1 of your creatures at a time.
Trample means the amount of damage it deals to a creature deals that much to all other creatures in that room.
Flying means it can only be dealt damage if a d6 was rolled higher than its power.
Lifelink means the amount of damage it deals adds to the creature's health
Defender means creature cannot deal damage. I recommend using this and then adding an alternate ability, where is they can deal damage the second round.
Enter the battlefield means when the room is entered.
Instants and Sorceries are activated when the room is entered. A D8 is rolled and if it is higher than the mana cost, it succeeds.
Sacrificing is NPC sacrifice.
Return from graveyard is return to battlefield. You can return a dead creature from another room into there.
Creatures with vigilance can fight while blocking.
To untap allows a creature to fight a second time.
Haste allows a creature to always attack first.
Abilities allowing your creature to be destroyed... Will destroy it.
If a deck can have any number of one card, the amount of that card is picked at random.
Player means your character
I will keep posting more as we go along.
The first map has not been finished yet. Once finished, I will post it here so everyone can play it.
Someone give me an idea of what putting a card from exile into graveyard would do.

Is this an acceptable character for me to play: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/ganthu-the-beetle ???
The room is going to have a goblin and an orc in it. And a dragon for a boss. One small piece of equipment as treasure, since it has mostly been ransacked already.
I WILL BE POSTING THE ENTRIES AND RESULTS OF THE CONTESTS HERE!!! STAY TUNED FOR MORE.

If I make the other stuff for my room today, will you guys still take it? I've had some ideas I just thought my room was no longer mine
Okay, so my room is an ancient shrine to the dragon Shi Shao. Shi Shao is a powerful Elder Dragon who has escaped the sight of Bolas. Though he cannot physically move between the planes (yet. He is constantly trying to break through to another plane), he has the ability to project his spirit into other planes, and thus, has a huge cult following across the multiverse. Room 12 is a shrine he has constructed.
The shrine: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/shrine-to-shi-shao?list=user
This particular shrine is overseen by a ruthless priest who, with power endowed to her by Shi Shao himself, can rip a dragon's essence across the multiverse to defend her. http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/priestess-of-shi-shao?list=user
She doesn't have very many other protectors to her shrine, just a few spectral dragons she has permanently bound to her will (http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/fluctuating-rushwing?list=user).
While this is all good, the shrine has been blessed by Shi Shao, and makes defeating the shrine even more difficult: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/decree-of-shi-shao?list=user
So, if you die, when you return, those dragons might just be even more powerful than before. Shi Shao is known for his horrible hubris and it shows in all his spawn.
If you can defeat the priestess and her remaining dragons, you will meet the projection of Shi Shao himself, an incredibly powerful being who will have no tolerance for the desecration of his shrine. You must defeat him: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/shi-shao-spectral-guardian?list=user
Now, why would you ever go through this much trouble? After all, this is a very difficult task with very many possibilities of loss. Well, it's nothing without a reward: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/roar-of-the-dragon?list=user. This sword, the Roar of the Dragon gives you confidence, confidence that borders on Hubris. You may just become infinitely more powerful with it.
Okay, so I don't know what you want to do with the Roar cause you could use it to destroy everything else, so maybe have it like reset at the beginning of each room?
Also, It was designed so that the ability of searching for a dragon on the land could be utilized by Shi Shao to summon some more of the Fluctuating Rushwings, but that I guess is up to you. If it's too much, tell me and I can scale it down a bit.
@Connor2001, Your room has nice cards, it's just that they don't work together and it didn't meet the requirements in the first place.
@ZendicarElite, I like your idea, but first, the set links are dead, second, your cards need to be balanced, and third, you seriously need to think about templating.
@yousmelllikeapumpkin, the link was dead but I still got in. I like the Eldrazi Concept, but it's chaotic, OP, too many bosses, and I'm sorry, no.
@PixelKirby, I love the concept of Robots and Artificers, but I guess this doesn't even matter, but it just doesn't look too good visually
@Faiths_Guide, Out of the 3 best picks in my opinion, you got the best. One way in and one way out. I like your idea of using the land as the main and having swarms of flying minions. But bat spirits? Hmmm... BATS HAVE NO SOULS!!!
@Corwinnn, Insect Tribal??? I LOVE insects. Although... Insect lair can make infinite insects... But I still love your entries.
@DankSoulsRager, I love the idea of a room of the dead coming back to life with a whole nice backstory... But the land? 2 free mana and free cards??? The Lich needs his EDH rights revoked!
@MrRansom, Ooh... Treasure room. I'll definitely keep this in mind.
@MrRansom, That ones confusing... So many "bosses"
@yousmelllikeapumpkin, More Eldrazi? Man... I thought they were done with life. I guess it works okay, but having so many bombs sorta ruins the point.
@RohanDragoon, Good thing you entered it. That room is awesome. I've seen enough of Shi Shao, but never imagined her in my contest.
@Tomigon, Nice, Wizards!!!
@Tomigon, Love the Artificer idea.
@Tomigon, Mono black booster? Heck yeah!
@Gterww123, Nice. Large room, but with matching artifacts!
@ChargingBadger, Sorry, it's incomplete.
@Tomigon, Angels? Nice idea. I'll check on that.
@Tomigon, Room of Chaos is chaotic... Is that one tiny Asian looking Goblin ruining everything?
@Tomigon, Hunt is amazing! I'll see on that.
@Corwinnn, Your treasure room is the most unique I have seen here! Amazing!!! I love how it works.
@Corwinnn, Such a basic looking Orzhov room can be made so interesting, though it is incomplete.
@Mtgwizard9003, that one has a nice idea, just needs some templating.
@MrRansom, I can't see that room 26 working together.
@MrRansom, That's a nice one. You have weapons, and alliances all for your help.
@ZendicarElite, better templating pls.
@Beeswax, such a simple room made so impressive.
Honorable Mentions:
@Corwinnn's Insect Lair. Amazing, but would have done better if it had a fixed land.
@Tomigon's Angel Room, Wizard Room and Artificer Room. Also nice, but not working to well together.
5th Place, @Beeswax's Choke Point. The room was amazing, just a bit too basic.
4th Place, @MrRansom's Treasure Room. I love the idea of allies and treasure, but I felt others had more to offer.
3rd Place, @RohanDragoon's Shi Shao lair. I love how it was able to contain all these related cards and mix together.
2nd Place, @Gterww123's Construct Room. The concept and format was amazing, but I a bit too overdone.
Now, before I get to first, I want to mention @Corwinnn's Treasure room with the treasure chest. The idea was completely amazing, and I gotta say I would've given it a 2nd place, but since It technically wasn't matching to what I wanted, it will have to be on the side, as an Honorable Mention.
Now...
1st Place, @Rednaxela's Zombie Room. Oh my gosh that room works wonderfully. It all matches and helps, and I can't even explain it but it's amazing.
HM: 1
5th:2
4th: 3
3rd: 5
2nd: 7
1st: 10
It's per win, so @Tomigon gets 3 because he got 3 HM.
All winning entries will be favorited.
I will give feedback on any card you ask me for, and help with flavor text.
A trophy too will be made.
Oh yeah, top 3 get a card made by me in my Promotion of Cardsmith.
Someone mind writing in the results. Thanks.
