@Ral1000 Here is a common Harmonize card. I originally had it at 3W for the mana cost, but I felt that life gain triggers could be hard to get at a large scale until late game. Is this good? Any feedback would be appreciated!
I really like it! This is honestly very creative, and I'm sure we could find a way to include it.
The only small issue here is that all of the common instant/sorcery slots in white usually have some other purpose, such as removal, buff, team boost, tap, ect. As such, this might work better for uncommon, because adding an additional ability to it might be a little over the top. Again, I really love this idea, and I'm sure we can fit it into uncommon if not common.
I like this! We would probably have to adjust it a bit, since the name seems a little out of sorts, and we might want another art. I also changed the first line of text, because 3 mana for a -1/-1 counter isn't too significant. I also would like to steer away from -1/-1 counters, since they can cause confusion when put together with +1/+1 counters, and the two are almost never printed in the same set.
I know about the art and name @Ral1000, it was 12:00 and I was going insane and wasn't even supposed to be on my computer, but yeah, good point. Side note:It was placeholder art, but now that you mention it...
Enlighten Exile target creature with power 4 or greater. If CARDNAME was enlightened, exile target creature instead. ---
(Nitpick) I just realized that Harmonize needs to prevent players from animating Auras since they would just die. This wording should be fix it...
Harmonize N (Put N +1/+1 counters on target noncreature, non-Aura permanent you control. It becomes a 0/0 Song creature in addition to its other types.)
Equipments will be fine since they will just fall off and continue to stay on the battlefield.
Also, do we want to animate planeswalkers? It technically works at the moment but I think it's a flavor fail.
@LyndonF thanks for all this! I'll start messing around with these ideas, I appreciate the thoughts put into them!
As for the planeswalkers, I see what you mean, as it would get pretty messy with the +1/+1 and loyalty counters at the same time. It seems a little problematic to say "noncreature, non-Aura, non-planeswalker permanent" though. Huh. I'll have to think on this.
I was thinking about possibly "noncreature, non-Historic" but unfortunately Historic includes artifacts and Sagas instead of Auras. Additionally, it wouldn't help to do "nonlegendary", because you block off all legendary permanents, not just planeswalkers, and that doesn't save any space...
However, we could potentially come up with a keyword thing like "historic", but it would be for creatures, planeswalkers, and Auras. Perhaps "entity" or something as an example... so like:
Harmonize: "Put N +1/+1 counters on target non-entity permanent you control. (Creatures, Planeswalkers, and Auras are entity permanents.)"
@Alextorrez6 Mechanics referring to other mechanics in their text is a very complicated thing which normally isn’t ever done. There is also already 4 mechanics in this set which seems more than enough.
OK, so I've been looking at you guys' suggestions and stuff, and I've boiled it down to this:
I do have a question about auras: Would they really become unattached? Couldn't they stay on the creature and become a creature of their own? I know it would be a bit confusing, but I think it can be dealt with... I'm just not seeing why the auras would become unattached.
And even if they would just die, the lesson would be: Don't Harmonize Auras! I honestly don't really see what the big issue is, even though it would still be good to work out the exact rulings.
A couple more notes on Harmonize: - I double checked the rules and by rule 304.d, an animated Aura will die as a state-based effect. But we can just ignore it and that's probably fine. - If you accidentally animate a land that just enter the battlefield, it can't attack or tap for mana. An easy fix (actually easy, I promise) is: Harmonize X (... 0/0 Song creature with haste in addition ...)

As you can see, it seems like there are a lot of options to be put on commons, but not a lot of cards, so I've tried putting them together on the same card, so we can leave effects which are too powerful to be combined with anything on their own (e.g. mass card draw).
@LyndonF that's perfect! I think we can just keep Harmonize at artifacts, enchantments, and lands like you said, and the players can just not enchant auras if they're smart.
About the card ideas: I love the idea of combining general effects that we need to include (removal, card draw, ect.) with the keywords, and these are some great examples. Thanks for doing all this!
OK, so everyone is contributing awesome ideas for cards and stuff, and I won't forget any of them I promise (@LyndonF), but I think it's time to start developing the plane, the plot, and the characters. We'll need some kind of a history for the plane, including the process through which it began it's own enlightenment period.
Unless anyone else has anything to contribute to this discussion, I'd like to transition into Vision Design phase by the end of the week. I'll create a new thread outlining what we have at the moment, and what we want to improve on.
Thanks so much for all the support thus far, and I'd love for everybody to continue on our journey!
Many sets in magic has been themed around important periods and cultures in real world history. This seems to give the set a better feel, and make things easier to work with.
What would you guys think of basing this set around Ancient Mesopotamia? There was a fair amount of music in this period, and it seems to be an intriguing period to undertake an enlightenment. What do y'all say?
Mesopotamia! I'm a history nerd, so that's not a bad idea! My only suggestion is put a little bit of something else in there, so that the set doesn't feel like a mesopatamia set with music.

Lol, the point is, I taught myself how to effectively use mtg.design! Yay!
HEre's the card @Ral1000

-Beginning of turn: Untap both, both triggers target each other. In response, tap them for mana. Untap them, get the triggers, ect.
Otherwise I really like the idea and it's definitely something we could work with.
@LordTachanka123 thanks for the help! Sounds cool (:
