    This card gives all your soldiers haste, like the blitz, gives all your creatures with Blonde hair and Blue eyes a slight boost, and even lets you commit Mass genocide! What's not to love?
    Where is my prize?
  • lol xD one thing: WHY IS HE JESKAI COLORS?!?! HE'S EVIL!!!
  • Rakdos colors?
  • Lol my old Hitler got deleted. I had to make a new one :P

  • @TheFriendlyGeek I was originally going to make him B/R, but then I realized that I wanted to boost my blue and white creatures, so I made him Jeskai colors.

    Plus, soldiers are more of a white thing :P
  • @Grimshac @Lujikul I saw your comments on my card, Net Decking, and I wanted to let you know I didn't make it to target Net-Deckers and criticize them or send hate towards them. I just made it as a funny card for this contest. I apologize if this card offended you in any way, please let me know if it did.
  • @LukeMTG

    The only things that offend me are people who use the word "autist" as an insult, people that are anti-vaccine and Trump-followers (/s), so we're good.
  • @Grimshac everything you listed are among the things that offend me the most. Are you sure we aren't the same person? o.0
  • @LukeMTG

    I... I hope not. I like being me, In Denmark :D
  • @TheFriendlyGeek To be fair, any color can be considered "evil." That said, the only color that believes in evil is White (and different White factions can have different definitions of it).

    Also, Hitler seems like he'd be WBR to me. Red because his platform was based on an appeal to Germany's emotional state at the time. Black because mass murder (and, in tandem with White, because he cared about a particular sub-group's general welfare while disregarding and even supplanting others). White because White is the primary color for leadership and because Hitler did what he did for what he considered to be the greater good (as far as Germany was concerned).

    Arguments could also be made for Blue since he was advocating the rise of the Aryan race as what could be considered the "perfect" race.

    Also throw Green in there because real life people are all five colors.

    ...

    Oh! Right! The contest!

    ...

    I don't have anything for it. I don't particularly like hating on people/concepts/stuff.
  • Going oldschool for this one:
    image
  • @Phelgming I wanted you to be able to play Hitler in a U/W deck because of his +1/+1 to blue and white creatures ability. In my opinion, the mass murder thing works better with white because white is famous for wrath effects. I feel that while black may work better with who Hitler actually was, mechanically, I felt the abilities worked better with WUR over WBR.
  • @KrampisZman I'm speaking from a philosophical perspective; not a mechanical one. White is not an advocate of mass murder while Black has no qualms about using murder (or anything else for that matter; murder is just one of its "go-tos") as a means of getting what it wants/needs.

    Also, Wrath effects are not necessarily indicative of mass murder; you need to look at their flavoring. In White, they're effectively the bomb you drop when the zombie apocalypse has happened and you need to do something drastic so more people don't die. They bring ends to conflict even if only temporarily. In Black, they're a means of killing things that are in your way or bothering you.

    It's the difference between End Hostilities and In Garruk's Wake/Languish.

    Now, if we want to talk mechanics, there's some other stuff I can bring up (I'll post them under the card listing itself).
  • Wrath effects can also just be someone big, powerful and angry deciding they don't want anyone around any more. Hence the names and flavor of Wrath of God, Akroma's Vengeance, Day of Judgement, etc.
  • I wouldn't say that's quite the case with those three in particular. In each of those three cases it's a matter of bringing justice (flavorfully).

    Wrath of God (at least pre-Heliod) and Day of Judgement sort of speak for themselves in name alone, but Akroma's Vengeance is attributed to her seeking punishment against the people (and their stuff if we bring mechanical ramifications into flavor's perspective) who killed someone. In each case it's not murder for murder's sake or to remove obstacles so much as to right wrongs.

    It will usually come down to a matter of perspective, though.

    Phyrexian Rebirth is, however, skewed in another direction in regards to flavor and in-color motivation. I'm sure there are others like it, too. It's a part of mechanical and philosophical aspects of colors not always agreeing when actual cards get made.
  • I'll start by saying that I think making a Hitler card is in bad taste. Yes, he's a historical figure and no, making a card about him isn't promoting him but it still seems like he kind of thing to be avoided.

    That being said, from a MTG perspective, there are creatures who are capable of wiping the board thanks to artifacts or power/authority they have. Mageta the Lion, Magus of the Disk, Bearer of the Heavens, Child of Alara, Deathbringer Regent, many more.
  • I tend to concur. I feel there's a difference between depicting fictional characters and real-life people. Hitler in particular is naturally a pretty extreme direction to take something.

    I mean more in regards to motivation and not so much execution. The "why" isn't always a factor (Phyrexian Rebirth), but it typically is. The "how" is also a lot easier to justify (ice freezes stuff, fire burns stuff, gods have giant fists, etc.). Bearer of the Heavens, for example, is pretty clear in what it is that causes the actual board wipe to occur (flavorfully speaking), but the motivation is pretty lacking (I'm not sure "Whoops! I dropped the everything!" fits into any particular color's philosophical motivations).

    There will be occasional philosophical/mechanical dissonance, but that's just because in-color mechanics (should) always trump in-color flavor. That said, this dissonance should be kept to a minimum.

    Megeta the Lion, on the other hand, is pretty clear in both regards. He's a general leading an army of his people against their invaders, there are a bunch of casualties, and he's the only one left alive because he's a huge badass (I'm inferring all of this from what little knowledge I have of his background). He does have the authority/power for it, but his motivation is a key aspect in the card's full flavor.
  • So Mageta the Lion is MTG's Hitler?
  • @Phelgming Again, I made this card to fit a niche that I wanted it to fill. I needed you to be able to play Hitler in a W/U deck. This is because Hitler was a champion of the "Aryan" Race (Basically Germanic and Nordic people with Blonde hair and Blue eyes). I wanted this to be captured in my card. I get that bending the color pie is not something that anyone should do if they are even attempting to make a well balanced, realistic card, but this was not designed to be a realistic card that could see print, this is just a card literally for this contest.

    (P.S. I should also point out that Hitler was fanatical about finding a technologically advanced super weapon, which feels very blue to me.)

    (P.P.S. I get that black wraths are more about selfishness than doing what's right, but I also see a lot of the newer black wraths are effects like "Were walking through a swamp and mosquitoes are killing us")
  • okay everyone back to submissions, there is A LOT of non-submission comments

    @strongbelieves
    Well Mageta was never more than a military man, never promoted genocide, and never invaded anything and Hitler never looked good in white war paint and animal skins, and he killed himself, but sure. Alter all your copies of Mageta to have that signature mustache.

    @KrampisZman
    Oh, I see. That didn't come through to me at all. I think I would have just gone with the overt "Nazi and Aryan creatures you control get +1/+1" route.

    And sure. There are plenty reasons for him to be Blue in some aspect. Like I said, real people are all five colors.

    Again, philosophical/mechanical dissonance is a thing.

    @TheFreindlyGeek
    Sorry. We're just partaking in simple conversation. After this post I'll keep things on-topic.
  • @Phelgming yeah the only reason I put it as blue and white rather than Aryan is because I don't plan on making any Aryan creatures so the extra text would have been useless.

    Sorry @TheFriendlyGeek But hey, at least more people will see your contest now :D
