~ CHAIN OF FEEDBACK ~

Hello everyone!

This thread is for people who put a great effort into their creation, and for people who want some constructive feedbacks on their cards.

So, the rule of this thread is, you post one of your cards that you want someone to see. BUT, if you do that, you must give feedbacks on at least two cards just above your comment.

I'll show you the example in the next comment. Let me use @CrucibleOfHate and @Boomfat's name and their cards.

    A planeswalker with two ultimates abilities.. very creative! But my concern is, [+3] each turn might be a bit too hard to kill. I think her 1st ability's cost should be [+2]. And I suggest [-8] for 2nd, and [-12] for 3rd. And I feel like the colors are more of WU, because her abilities remind me of Meddling Mage.

    @Boomfat's - Enkavma, Rage Unbound
    http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/enkavma-rage-unbound?list=set&set=4452
    I think I like the ideas of all abilities, but if I look the card overall, it seems over powered to me. 1st ability seems especially dangerous. I suggest to add "with converted mana cost 2". 2nd is also very powerful. How about "Enkavma deals N damage to target creature that was dealt damage this turn."? 3rd is very unique, but it has memory issue. If someone gained life, it's hard to remember which player lost how much damage in the game.

    And here is my card to be looked at

    Is this balanced?

    - So that was an example.
    Then the next person gives feedbacks on
    @Boomfat's - Enkavma, Rage Unbound
    http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/enkavma-rage-unbound?list=set&set=4452
    and
    @Tomigon's - Spire Watcher
    http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/spire-watcher?list=user

    Then, that person can post his or her card.
    (Link to the card)

    ------------------------------------------
    *Don't forget to use "@" to let them know that you left feedbacks on their cards.
    *Please put the card's name and link after @Author. That makes the comments clearer to see.
    *And if you remake your card, it would be nice if you say thank you and give credit to people who gave you feedback on the new card's comment.

    If you understand how things go, let's start :)

    @Boomfat's - Enkavma, Rage Unbound
    As @Tomigon stated before, the first ability is open to abuse. If you restricted it to cmc 2 or less, I think you're fine with removing the self-inflicted damage.
    The second ability isn't too bad and I like the idea. I would suggest making it a +0 though.
    For the third ability I again agree with Tomigon. I would say that if you went with the other suggestions, you could have it give both players an emblem with "Whenever a source would deal damage to you, it deals double that damage to you instead."

    @Tomigon's - Spire Watcher
    It's certainly not too far off if it isn't balanced. In many cases the strength of a common is determined by the set itself, so it's hard to say. So if this creature is taking up your common white kill spell slot (or sharing it with a bad common removal card), then I think you're fine. If you think Spire Watcher may be a little too strong, you could make the kicker cost 2W instead. Which would make it slightly less splashable.

    Heres my card. Feedback is on cards
  • @boomfat- it appears that there is at last, a voice withing this dreadsome silence, such as that poor men must strain to hear.
  • @Boomfat Does that mean Sanguine is the color of day?
  • I deleted my Spire Watcher and make the new version. Thanks @seaspray4TF3 for the feedback. Next person gives feedbacks on only seaspray4TF3's card.

    I really like this card. I think it has a mild drawback if there are no creatures in play with activated abilities to counter, but you can offset that by filling your deck with creatures that do have them, in case your opponent doesn't want to cooperate with your evil plans.

    @L0NEvvolf - Echos of Wrath
    http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/echos-of-wrath?list=user
    This card has some nice potential, but there are a couple of minor issues I have with it. First off is the obvious spacing issue. I like to see cards that fill the text box evenly, but that's a minor thing. The other issue is that fading is written as "Fading X"... If you add the X onto fading, then it makes this card super fun... Cast it for a little and get rid of something quickly, cast it for a lot and you'll need to survive long enough to watch everything go *POOF*

    Here is my card

  • @stormbreath and the poor men's strains bring joy to their killers, as desperation will be their last emotion, and will surely bring them no honor in the life that will follow soon. Very soon.
  • Yea, once people find out they have to work for feedback, they shy away. Imagine that!

    I'm going to take a look at Corwinnn's rats (lol) and leave my own card here: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/confer-with-the-elements?list=user

    I know it's supposed to be the two above you, but... eh, yea, I'm not sure when any of the comments were left due to the time-stamping ._.

    Don't let this thread die, guys.
  • Yay!!! I love those stupid rats! LoL!
  • @Corwinnn's Torture Rats:
    Too underpowered? Seems much too sluggish for me. 4cmc is too much for me to consider playing it. I would give it 7 out of 10.

    @Grimshac's Confer with the Elements:
    What a cool card! Restrictive enought to be balanced, yet powerful on its own. I would probably add like a charm-like ability that allows you to pick options with converge. I give it 9/10

    My card:
    http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/mercurial-outcast-1

    Don't let the thread die!
  • @Grimshac's Confer with the Elements:
    Neat card for sure! Might be a little on the strong side (even at rare IMO). In current standard, playing this T3 for three colors consistently would be easy due to Cryptolith Rite. 12 life and three 2/2s consistently starting T3 seems pretty hard to recover from as the opponent. I like seeing converge though! Maybe if it was three times X life and/or 2/1 Elementals? By comparison with Painful Truths I think it is a little to powerful, but it has great art and flavor!

    I'll give it 7/10, nice card!

    @Gelectrode's Mercurial Outcast:
    Always like Morphs, and this guy is pretty cool! Like the art, flavor, balance, and overall layout. Couple of problems with this dude though. Obviously reminiscent of http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?name=+[morph] but a little harder (still) to keep track of because he not only has multiple base P/Ts but also can continue "switching". Other issue is that it suffers from the same ambiguity as http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=386482, forcing players to assume that it becomes a 2/2 colorless morph again if it is turned face down again even though the card doesn't clarify, maybe reminder text: (It is a 2/2 creature.)?

    I'll give it 7.5/10, really cool card!

    My card:
    Constellation Regulator

    Keep the thread alive!
  • @Gelectrode Mercurial Outcast:
    A really cool guy, i love the idea of how he's constantly adapting and how you can change him to fit the circumstances. Biggest problem i see is that you most of the time won't want to change his stats, being 3/3 is a good solid creature but having him be 4/1 only gives him 1 more attack while setting him at 1 health. Setting him to a 4/1 barely gives an reward while it makes him extremely fragile. Making him 1/4 suffers a similar problem with 1 attack he can't do much and 4 health only sets him 1 above three which isn't a significant advantage.

    @Faiths_Guide Constellation regulator:
    A really cool card with clear enchantment synergies but lets break down his different parts. "Enchantments you control have hexproof" seems good, allows you to protect your enchantments and makes them harder to deal with, exactly what you want in an enchantment deck. Second ability "as long as you control ten or more enchantments..." ten is a lot of enchantments to have in play so just looking at the condition for this ability it already looks like a win more ability. Rest of the second ability, allows you to cast spells for cheaper and basically gives card advantage. While those effects are nice and fit finely with the card they don't make up for how hard the second ability is to activate. "Enchanted creature gets +1/+1", +1/+1 is not a very big stat increase so this ability is not very impactful, i don't really see it in the flavor either, his other two abilities buff/work with other enchantments.

    Alright made it through the giving of feedback, now its my turn to get some.

    Would love to hear what some people think of this guy, made to fit into a jeskai/prowess type deck.

    @serpentail Tome Caster
    http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/tome-caster?list=user:
    That's quite too much on a single fella 3 CMC, don't you think? That activated ability could easily be on an high-costed Blue enchantment for the amount of things it does at the same time. I believe you might have wanted to add "You may choose new targets for the copy", because as is, the copy will have the same targets as the spell it’s copying, but that would only make it stronger.

    It's a 2/2 3CMC with...
    > Prowess
    > Copy ANY target spell (creature, instant, sorcery, etc) by only paying its CMC+{u} - added that you don't even have to follow Mana Color requirements, as {x} = CMC (it can be paid with any mana color).
    > If target spell's CMC<3, draw a card.
    > If target spell's CMC>4, Tome Caster gains +2/+2 until end of turn (It creates a copy of a spell. That copy is created on the stack, so it’s not “cast.” Abilities that trigger when a player casts a spell, such as Prowess, won’t trigger.)

    Thank God this ability can only be activated only once per turn!

    Personally, I think it's overpowered and feel like its activated ability should have at least a {t} requirement, the card's CMC should be higher, the card's activated ability cost should be higher and it should only copy spells of certain types, to match its flavor even (instants/sorceries). Also, none of that circunstantial card draw/double Prowess buff - it already has enough.

    You could make a Planeswalker or Legendary Creature out of it. It'd be a lot less stressful to balance it compared to now.

    @Faiths_Guide Constellation Regulator
    http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/constellation-regulator?list=user
    I like its concept as a Enchantment player, but I really don't like it as someone playing against a deck like that. As it's an Enchantment Creature, it already has Hexproof, being it Bestowed or as a 1/1 creature.

    Maybe it'd be better to adjust the first phrase to "Other Enchantments you control have Hexproof", to at least give your enemy a chance at destroying it, as Enchantment destruction is a pretty important balance mechanism.

    Otherwise, I really enjoyed it. Reminds me of @saveria201 's Aligned mechanic in flavor (as seen in http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/temple-futurist-1?list=user).

    I'd like some feedback on this. If possible, take your time, as I took mine to give others feedback.

  • IT'S ALIVVVE!

    @serpentail's Tome Caster:
    Hmm, seems a bit OP. 2/3 prowess for 3 is already pretty good, but with the addition of copying spells with a benefit kinda puts it over the top. Most of the time, people would want to just use 3 and below to draw an extra card. Also, has a couple syntax errors, such as not italicing the Prowess reminder text, capitalization errors, and bleeding text. Overall, I would lower power/toughness, remove extra benefits from copying, or up the mana cost. I give it 6/10

    @Yururu's Brief Sidestep:
    Took me some time to get the card, but it seems pretty cool! However, the scry ability just seems to underpowered and the name doesn't align with the card text and flavor text. (Maybe Crazed Preparations?) Overall, I give it 8/10

    Here is my card!

    Very Very powerful in a control deck.

    Drop him turn one and from then on play counterspells.

    Honestly I think it should be a Mythic and cost 2-3 mana.

    Overall very neat concept. Simple yet powerful.

    I totally forgot about this. Hahaha!

    Please put links to cards that you commented. It really helps the next person. Remember that you're suppressed to check out two cards to post your card! Imagine that you get feedback only from a person who started magic one week ago. You would probably want another feedback from experienced mtg player.

    @L0NEvvolf's Kayana, Interferer of Wills

    Interesting card, it's not bad. I think the fact that you are giving them one card for sure and only able to take things that cost less than 4 CMC, she will be under-powered in EDH where the average CMC (typically) is quite a bit higher than in other formats. Maybe as a rare legendary that has to pay and tap to activate you could've left it at "draw one card" instead of two? That, and raising her CMC to 3, would've made her more playable IMO. Also, make sure to double check grammar in flavor text, it is so easy to make a simple mistake.

    I'll give it 6.5/10, neat design!

    @Gelectrode's Inquirer of the Fleeting

    Wow, I like this one! Could it be that it is fairly easily broken in a bunch of archetypes? I can see this and Remand/Mana Tithe/Mental Misstep/Spell Snare/Counterspell just annihilating almost everything. It has awesome flavor and was produced wonderfully but might be just a tad OP with its obvious (and intentional) synergies. Have to say that (of the ones I've looked at, which is most) this is my favorite on this discussion! Perhaps up its cost and/or rarity a smidge.

    I'll give it 8/10, fantastic!

    @faiths_guide

    The card is ment for a standard format not commander. (I use that symbol on every card I make)

    She is Jace and Lillianas daughter.

    Still young and just learning to use magic she cannot yet control minds, nor can she wipe them clean, so she uses her powers to distract the will of others instead.

    The cmc restriction is due to her lack of powers.

    @L0NEvvolf
    7/10 *thumbsup* :D (still it would be better in EDH probably because you could run Notion Thief:)

    @L0NEvvolf's http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/kayana-interferer-of-wills?list=user:

    Wow, seems really cool! It seems a bit underpowered in Modern and EDH (because it would get killed before you can take their answer!), but would be powerful in a Standard/Draft environment. One more thing is to put a comma betweent the U/B mana symbol and the tap symbol. I give it 7/10.

    @Faiths_Guide's http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/misinformed-teacher:

    I already favorited this card before reviewing it, but it is a fantastic card! My only concern is that it would be easily abused by Lighthouse Chronicler and Coralhelm Commander, which allows you to pick and choose from your library. I give it 9/10

    Misinformed Teacher, Coralhelm Commander (or any other {1}-{2} Level up), and Training Grounds :D
  • @Gelectrode 's http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/mania-obelisk
    I like the idea of your card. It seems not op (but a little weak?). If you play a Madness Deck you in fact loose no mana that turn, but you spend a card slot in your library. The effect becomes usable at T3 or T4 because you need 2 mana and a discard engine. So it is not that slow. but you need card draw so blue is obvious color and black for the discard. Three colors is hard to play. The art is fantastic!

    @Faiths_Guide 's http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/misinformed-teacher
    The Idea behind it is awesome, but its weak! Level counters are expensive as hell and the effect does not justify the cost. If you have proliferate or something like that it becomes usable but that would be a combo of three cards.

  • @Faiths_Guide 's http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/misinformed-teacher

    Man, that card is sweet! My only problem is that it would combo waaaay too easily with cards like Coralhelm Commander and Lighthouse Chronicler for sifting through your library. Either ways, I give it 9/10

    @Tutlaschk's http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/pares-merchant-guild-master?list=user

    For the card, I think the proper wording would be "Choose any number of other permanents you control. Target player does the same with permanents he or she controls. You may exchange control of all permanents you chose and all permanents that opponent chose." Otherwise, a cool card. I would give it 8/10.
