Her mentor, Anki, has trained her since a very early age to inherit the kingdom. He continues to serve her as a loyal right hand, helping her execute her will. He has lived for a very long time, thanks to extended life granted by Rekuiemu, the royal family's sword, which he watches over. He has not much power, but he makes up for that in skill and experience. He serves the will of the royal family, having lost all semblance of a life many hundred years ago.
Rekuiemu is an ancient sword, having been carried by Akiko's family for generations. Its great power comes from the spirits trapped in the sword. Each member of Akiko's family has their soul inside Rekuiemu, giving it more power for every soul trapped inside. This sword is watched over by Anki until the inheritor is ready for the blade.
