  • Week Seventeen deadline complete

    Thank you all so much for your participation!

    We had 5 entries this week, let's get onto judging.

    @bramboy99 - Temporal Revelation
    Starting off with an awesome extra turn spell, let's get into it.

    Alright, so I find really nothing wrong with this card except for the fact that it just feels so plain. While it has some interesting rules interactions, at the end of the day, its a slightly worse time stretch that can't be countered. And with instant and sorcery reanimation, it gets really out of hand.

    Overall, fine card, just feels too plain for me. 80/100

    @Astrophibian - Natural Obliteration
    Ooh, land destruction. Got to say not fun, but I love how you themed the card.

    I just firstly want to say that I love this card theme and creativity wise, really cool. The thing I find wrong with this card is that it feels so underpowered. Looking at similar cards, we can see things like Armageddon cost four mana, and most mass burn spells cost around five or six. Maybe if you made the damage only hit your opponents then it would be good at ten, but as it is, I think it would be better at five or six mana.

    Overall, really cool card, just underpowered. 75/100

    @Jadefire - Torrent of Thought
    Ok, this is a really awesome card, I absolutely love the uniqueness of it and how it interacts with the stack.

    My only problem with this card is that it doesn't feel like it fits the spirit of the challenge. While yes, it doesn't necessarily break the prompt, the spirit of the challenge was to make really huge bombs that cost tons of mana, and this just feels like it breaks the prompt.

    Overall, amazingly cool card, just does not fit the spirit of the challenge. 82/100

    @Floodkiller45 - Golden Moon's Assassin
    Only creature of this round, and I think its a really cool one.

    The glaring problem with this card is the fact that it dies to its own etb trigger. That means it really can't live up to its full potential. I'm pretty sure this was not intentional, but if it was, its way too weak for 10 mana. If not, just make sure it destroys all other creatures. I actually really like the etb effect otherwise, really cool.

    Overall, cool card, just needs some fixing. 80/100

    @FireOfGolden
    Ok, awesome snail card, I love all these cards for the snail tail saga

    Ok, I love this card and I find very little wrong with it. My main problem is it feels a little underpowered for 10 mana, bumping it down to 9 make make it more fair, but if you want to keep it feeling a little weaker, keeping it at 10 is fine.

    Overall really wawsome card, but maybe a little underpowered. 85/100

    Everything is alright. Only some more experiments and then this situation will be unmade and everything will be alright ... probably ...

    Oh also, I would like to use Gambler's Dice and see what happens. ?

    Conspire seems like it was an underused mechanic compared to something like Convoke that similarly lets you choose between using your creature for attacking/blocking or something else.  The original idea for Tirza was to put Conspire and Connive on the same card because they seemed flavourfully connected as several creatures assembling in the shadows to plot something devious.

    @Robo_Kitty

    Thanks for the feedback, but things that you compared it to like Armaggedon. It only destroys lands.
    That's why ol' Arma is just 4. Natural Obliteration destroys only nonbasic lands, but since so many people use them, it's more of a blitz strategy. Yes, you get hurt but if you're not running nonbasic lands, it wouldn't matter on your end vs someone running Fiery Islet, Jungle Basin, or even Library of Alexandria.

    Anyway thanks nonetheless :smiley:
  • @Jadefire
    Your card is has too much sneakiness and I love it :wink:

    Haven't posted in 5 like years, figured I'd try to find a cool challenge. Can I just drop in like this?

    Edit: Guys, I can't for the life of me get the image to display. Help? It's been a while.

    Now there's an even better reason to put a copy of Black Lotus or Sol Ring or Moxes in your deck.
    Created as a gift for follower LvB.

  • Week Nineteen Prompt

    Create a curse or something that transforms into a curse.

    I hope you have fun with this week's prompt and enjoy the challenge!
  • @Robo_Kitty
    <Ahem> Does the BMC cards counts? ?
    For an example;

  • This design works a little differently between 1v1 and multiplayer.  You don't want to draw a second card on the same turn in 1v1, because there isn't another opponent of the owner to attach Infectious Ignorance to (unless you need to just bite the bullet because you're planning on drawing three or more cards that turn).  In multiplayer, you can use the trigger to your advantage to pass the hot potato, but it's also a tool for politics.
  • @FireOfGolden I'm going to say no that does not count.
  • Worth it ?
  • Here's my submission:

    @Robo_Kitty and just as a quick reminder I'm pretty sure you forgot to judge my card, so I would just like some feedback that's all.

    One mistake: "named should be capitalized."
    EDIT: It means that only the player whose upkeep it is creates the tokens. Wording mistake pointed out by Yururu.

  • @Floodkiller45, oops i'm so sorry. Watcher in the Water is very cool. Notes: You used the wrong frame, should have been hybrid, and it feels a little too powerful for only two mana. I give it an 84/100
